Now, not for Heart of Thorns, as this is all about mordremoth, but should Zhaitan be bought back at some point in the future so he can be given the boss fight he should’ve had to begin with?

I mean, he’s meant to be the “first big boss” of guild wars 2, and the battle was pretty cack.

I think that ship has sailed. Maybe they could tinker with the fight and make it more involving, but no leave him (presumed) dead. We can always replay the dungeon for new rewards as well if they did that.
Besides..he’d have to go knocking on he door of the Priory for his tail first!

There are so many more things that game has to use for protaganists, that bringing a villain we already defeated back, would only delay future encounters. I doubt many want Zhaitan again before Jormag or Kralk or even Palawa Joko if we ever go to Elona

I just think he deserves a more involving fight to be honest instead of just sitting on a turret and mashing #1.

I doubt you will find anyone to argue that point. But, it is nearly 3 years on. The best we can hope for is a rework within the same fight. Whether that will happen is highly doubtful. Maybe after we go up against Mordy, they will have learned enough about ED fights to inspire them to re-work it a little

the whole zhaitan fight, from the moment you get in those airships, needs to be redone. That they havent done it yet is an error in management. That fight is still the biggest thing most people look forward to when starting the game, and it is still terrible.

I got a mate to start playing recently, he got to 80 and kept putting off the fight, doing other things. When he finally felt like doing it, after he did that fight he quit the game and no matter how many times i told him the living story had improved, he has lost all interest and doesn’t believe me.

Yep, it’s a horrible fight. Just brought 2 guildies through it. Even though me and another guildie were both saying how bad and disappointing the fight was, they still said it was “LAME”. But he is dead and gone. I am tired of fighting undead. It would be nice if they made the fight something more than king kong and turrets, but the story has moved on. I just hope any future dragon fights aren’t so horrible.

While I’d like them to change the fight to make it less bland… I don’t want to hear about Zhaitan and his Risen minions again.
Undead enemies are really boring for me. I’m tired of seeing those everywhere, and going through the Personal Story which was heavily focused on an undead dragon and his swarm of zombies really annoyed me.

It wasn’t too bad, as originally designed. The fight mechanics were the same, but the minions (and AoEs?) that appeared on the airship were way harder. You had to split your party between killing minions, getting a few shots off on the turrets, and generally trying to stay alive at all. But people complained, so they nerfed it in the first few months after launch.

Lore wise and in game wise, it’s impossible for him to be “brought back”, at least this early (insert a few thousand years). But reworking the fight? Yeah that could use a bit of a touch up.

Arah was merely a setback.

Since his skeleton is hanging in the Priory I don’t think they can bring him back… it wouldn’t make any sense. They could redo the fight, but i’d much rather they work on other things instead… like fixing conditions… or making Cantha…

Technically, that’s just his tail in the Priory. And he had lots of tails (and lots of other body parts). I’m not saying we should all don the Tinfoil Hats and expect him to still be alive, but yeah, it’s just one of his tails.

better question is if we even killed Zhaitan in the first place.

We are not even sure if we killed him…

Also, he has everything to do with Mordremoth, seeing as they counter each other, and Mordremoth is so strong right now because of what we did to Zhaitan.

Brought back? No. Wouldn’t mind if they redid the dungeon instance he’s in to be cooler though.
