Very trivial issue but I’m genuinely curious about what happened to LA’s night skybox. In the BWEs, the night sky was very dark, and stars twinkled in the sky as you can see here:

In the live game, this is the darkest I have seen the sky go to:

Is it something to do with my hardware? If not, then why was it changed?

I’ll have to check this out. I don’t normally see the sky in this game, especially in Lion’s Arch due to all the tall structures, but those stars should definitely be there. That doesn’t seem like something they’d take out.

I took this in LA on the 16th:

I wonder if it has to do with being closer to sunrise/sunset and which direction the camera is facing? Yours looks to me like I’d expect to see around sunset, maybe…? Did you happen to notice where the moon was in its rotation at the time?

Airala, if you notice in the BWE screenshots, the upper portion of the sky is a pitch black. This seems to have been scrapped from the LA night skybox. Unless I have REALLY poor timing, I have spent whole nights in LA I think.

It’s interesting and disappointing if they changed this. I also wonder why, if it was a change.

Like DusK, I think it’s an odd thing for them to change. Which is why I thought it had to do with my graphical settings (I’m running most things at medium).
