Hello there!
I’d love to have my Spinal Blade Backpack as a glider skin.
I think it’s reasonable since they are absolutely made for it.

I know not everyone has them / has access to them but for the ones who actually worked for it, it would be great to fly around with them!

As a reference, these are the wings.

I’d like something like this, Not excactly the Spinal ones since they look like they can’t really hold a human/charr whilst gliding through the air. But i’d love to see something like a Mechanical Glider with fire behind it or something ^^

Interesting. As one who has an Ascended Synergetic Tempered Spinal Blades, this suggestion might make me consider wearing this backpack skin again. Heck I might even purchase these from the Gem Store(have not purchased any glider skins as of yet).

I do wonder if you considered about those who have the Spinal Blade Pack,Twin, Quad and Advanced models. Do you propose that they also be turned into gliders too? If so that would change the development time and resources from 1 glider item, to requirements for 5 sets of glider wings.

That might be a serious outlay of development time for items that are somewhat archived.

Thoughts?

I agree, what I feel would be even better is if we had an invisible glider skin that allowed all backpacks to be shown when gliding.

@Yalora I would handle it like the pvp wings. Only the final version is for gliding. All the versions before are too small. So i’d say only the ascended version is a glider.
Its just odd that i jump off a cliff with these wings on my back just to open the crappy default glider

Just as a small note, the Spinal back has 4 final tier backs…

1. Tempered Spinal Blades (infused) (yellow)
2. Synergetic Spinal Blades (infused) (green)
3. Dynamic Spinal Blades (infused) (blue)
4. Static Spinal Blades (infused) (red)

Only difference is the color: yellow, green blue and red. Maybe all could give acce to the unlockjed skin and they only need to make a dye slot for the glider.. (purple is missing) at least IMHO

But I’d like flapping butterfly wings as well.. and some others could easily made to gliders wwhcih would be good valuye for money…

Padd: Ok, final version only for glider, got ya. I don’t do PvP so I will have to take your word for it on that one.
As Pax states, there are 4 colors available, I would think that the color of the glider would be inherited from the already set dye channel of the backpack item. Therefore I would propose that this skin is Not dyeable.

I would leave it up to Anet if it’s dyeable or if the different versions are enough color variations.
In terms of gliding animations they already have joints that could unfold in a similar way the legendary pvp one does.
It would be amazing
