I always felt like game forums were a place to openly communicate between players and game managers, but I get the feeling that this forum is not conductive to discussing several areas of the game.

I have to walk on eggshells to word this thread properly, because I am in no way trying to:

  • contest the decision/actions of a moderator. I agree with their decisions, and I do not contest them.

Does any else feel like the general feeling of the forums are not conductive to many types of discussion?

Is this typical of a game forum, or are we special in that respect?

Thank you for your understanding.

Entirely agree with the walking on eggshells notion as of late. I wouldn’t be surprised if this thread were closed and/or deleted also. I’ve noticed multiple instances of people being colossal kitten but having their posts remain because they were worded properly, yet when I or someone else want to call them on it, we’re moderated for being “rude”. Various other bizarre and seemingly arbitrary restrictions also seem to apply.

I feel the forum does have a very high activity level, but I always do have to wonder how many good posts were actually deleted or censored in some other way. I’ve seen forums operate in similar ways but usually tended to avoid them for the reason in your post.

Thank you for your understanding.

Please, Sil. Let’s stay on topic, and let’s not discuss the actions of moderation on these forums.

I’m just feeling like there’s a lot of topics we can’t brush on, and it’s not conductive to feedback.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi everyone,

As stated several times, we do allow open discussion, so long as it doesnt break the CoC. Yes, it might happen that the moderator team is wrong, we are after all humans. That is what the forums@arena.net mail is for. Any infraction you think you didnt deserve can be corrected by writing there.

The bottom line is, that the most important part of a thread is for it to be constructive, to add a contribution to the forums, to help the users. A player might word his anger out, yet make it so that his or her frustration is made of reasons, of evidence, of whatever it might be that we can forward to the team and improve the game. You can be as polite as you want, and still don’t make a meaningful contribution to the forums or helpful to the community ,and that, doesnt have a place here in the forums.
Also, of course it might happen that some posts slip our eyes. The flow of messages is huge.

All in all, while we understand your concerns, we ask you all to please, stick by these points. Try to make your posts contributing and constructive and, if ever you feel a moderator has wrongfully infracted you, please write to the mentioned email.

Thanks for your understanding.

Edit: due to the changed title of this thread, which is a common expression used by the moderator team and is being used to mock us, we are closing this thread.
