What’s the limit on the block list?

Honestly, unless it’s been changed since release, your block list is only limited by your friends list(if that concept makes sense to anyone).

I dont think there is a limit to the block list. At least not one the average person can reach. I have 100s of people blocked.

I have no idea at all what your problem is. You can just block those people. Unless you meet 20 new people a day, there shouldn’t be any problems.

(For the record, I’m pretty sure I have more than 200 or even 300 people blocked)

i dont enjoy people i dont know stalking me for trolling as a form of flattery after u have ask them more than once to remove you from their friends list

If I block someone, they aren’t on my followers list. Seems easy enough. /shrug

and by stalking i mean following me to every zone i join and then call me an issue even after ive spent 50 mins trying to help out

but they still can see where you are and follow you to that area and continue to troll even if u cant see what they say

If you are feeling distress, use the report function. That’s what it is for.

this needs to be removed as it doesnt help anyone apart from the person thats stalking ! i dont play an mmo to be stalked in every zone i join and said person has been reported to support

I strongly disagree. It’s thanks to that function that I’m able to tell apart newbies from trolls/frauds when I help them out. I can see their AP, you see, so it’s very helpful to be able to add them.
Use Ignore or Report function to stop being bothered. Additionally, you can always go “offline” so only your friends know you’re there. You can still talk inside a party.

another reason to remove this feature is, i add you as a friend then join the zone begin to train as many monsters onto you while you level then laugh at your dead corpse! good enough reason to remove this feature ?

its just a feature for trolls to know where you are and what your doing it needs to be removed

yoroiookami you can use block to see ap but allowing them to use follow to troll u isnt a good feature no matter how u put it

You’re not making much sense, friend.
It allows you to see on what map is a certain person. And I agree that they could remove this little detail, but I don’t think it’s bad. I actually like to be able to tell where my friends are.
Mobs have different kinds of aggros, so if anyone tries to pull that sort of stunt, they might die themselves. You can always report that person for “griefing”, or something.

btw. I also had a person who would follow me on the map which was slightly annoying. I agree that there could be maybe an option to switch zones(and to degree, there is) which would probably solve your problem.

You must be quite notable, that people can find you anywhere in a specified zone. Lol, I have trouble finding party members, sometimes. I’d like to know the trick on finding a random player in a zone. Can you share?

the block list should not list zone to anyone or even online status its should be purely to stop seeing them type into chat and on that note anyone blocked should be shown in GUI as blocked and not just someone that looks like the rest of us i.e (IGNORED) above there head

The followers list is only beneficial.

That list empowers you to know who had added you as a friend. It only has benefits for the person being followed, as you can easily block followers you feel shouldn’t be following you.

The followers list itself isn’t the cause of the OP’s problem.

The OP actually has a problem with people being able to add him to their friend list without his/her permission.

The OP having issue with this makes no sense to me given the context of the genre this game is. And I would highly recommend against such a change, as promoting Interpersonal communication is important to building communities, which is ultimately what MMO’s are made up of.

Its everyones own decision, who we want to have as followers/friends.
This whole mind devolutionized problem would’t even exist at all, if ANet would have given us a well thought out system around the List Systems, that gives everyone the same rights, what currently is not the case.

With the current system, every silly jerk can just basically put everyone in their follower list, without that YOU get any notice about this, you don’t get asked for permission, what is the most normal thing that MUST happen in a fair community.

Otherwise our Follower/Block List rise ad absurdum from people, which put us in their stupid follower list and then become inactive, giving you no chance to remove this junk from your list at all.
There needs to be at least some time counter, which lets followers automatically remove from your list, if you don’t turn them within like the next 48-72 hours into friends

There is absolute 0 reson to have such an obsolete stalker/follower list, that shows too much information about things, that only friends should see.
Followers are totally obsolete, because you could turn them all into “Friends” and nickname all people in your FL, which are true friends and which are just “Followers”.

So why do we need to have that silly extra list, that does nothing, what the Friend List can’t do ???

Even Social Media Sites, like Facebook require a god darn PEMISSION REQUEST first, before you can add somebody to your Frined List.
When such sites like FB have this simple request mechanic, what is the most normal thing to add to FL’s, then tell me, why is it so freaking hard for Anet to add such a little, but important function to their own ingame friend list feature since 2 years???

Its just sad to see, that such little, but mind boggling problems get ignored by Anet since 2 years, when they could have been already solved by one of the many little patches, most likely even under a stealth patch, because adding a little permission request function and more options for players to manage their own follower/friend list by giving players the power also to remove junk from it permanently so simply, as the other side can just add you – so simply should it be also removeable by the other side again, is absolutely no rocket science task !!!

There is no reason to be able to add someone to a friendlist without their consent?
- I can tell who’s lying/trolling by their AP points thanks to that feature.
- I can add people who are completely new to the game and don’t know the HUD yet well enough.
- I can send mails to people who aren’t online for some time EASILY.

Those are my arguments and it took me around 1 minute to come up with those. What are your arguments for deleting it?

I say, keep it this way. Just add an option to switch zones.

friends should be added by consent and not just coz they want to i would prefer to have no one on my friends list than have troll after troll that ive never really played any part of gw2 with only because ive tried to help and they couldnt be bothered to help out and thought it was more fun to watch you die
