play a necro, have your own build non-meta and try to join a dungeon team.
if i had the ability to save everything they said about me i would have solid prove about how toxic this community is, i would not even be allowed to post all the remarks and insults.

i am lucky enough that i can completely ignore dungeons, play all alone and don’t bother teaming up.
i don’t want this kitten, i know it’s all about who you’re talking to but one thing kittenes me off, the arrogance and elitism i see everywhere.
just because you can complete something easily doesn’t mean everyone can.

Have you considered that perhaps you’re surrounding yourself with the wrong people? I’m currently playing solo and have yet to run into any of the problems you’re describing. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen or can’t but I’ve yet to experience them.

In fact, I’ve found this community to be far more co-operative and welcoming than other games. In fact, I come from a game whose forums were like a second home to me and that community is truly toxic. For example: If you disagree with or express discontent with a feature, design decision, or just expressing a dislike for the game in it’s current incarnation and say so, fellow forum goers will descend en masse to actually tell you to kitten quit “because we don’t want your kind around here”.

I can sympathize with a dislike for spam and toxicity but rest assured-this community has NOTHING on other games.

Yeah seems like OP is the salty one here. My experience with the community had been the complete opposite. I always see players helping each other out, congratulating that one guy with the lucky drops, and pugging dungeons is fine as long as you don’t join an elitist party. Granted map chat can be cancer at times, but that’s something I could choose to ignore and not participate in.

Play Rift, WoW, LoL or other games the like and you will see that GW2 have a relatively pleasant community.

Not saying it can be better, we for sure have a lot of trolls, but you also need to think about your own appearance. What about the guys who join pvp for doing their best to win. They team play and really put the effort in and then see people who are not really in any way carry their part in that game and they loose the match due to it, or have to work harder to carry the person. Why are their frustration not as real as yours are? I don’t say you don’t carry, and it does not give them the right to be rude, but they have just as much right to be as kittened as you are at them, because from their point of view you are the one ruin it

And next time you run in to those extreme people that are doing racist/sexual or other rude comments or tell you to kill your self or what not, make a screenshot of your chat with timestamp and send that and the account name of the person to exploits@arena.net.
Had a guy raging at me for no reason what so ever over something someone else did and he was really unpleasant. I sent the screenshot to a-net and he was offline for 2 weeks, obviously banned.
Just complaining is not really helpful, do something about the people who argue in ugly ways instead.

As for the events, well when i am i Orr i just turn my mapchat off. All this kids throwing insults have nothing interesting to say, so i just ignore the chat.
