uh oh i cant see the thread….
anyways i did read it earlier and i agree wholeheartedly on most of your points. Many say that dailys can be done by just doing anything in the game and that is true sometimes, however for me i log in everyday and do one run of arah or all of ac. For the last month and a half i have only gotten 16 laurels….(monthly + 6 dailies) its kind of sad actually.

Also consider this few suggestions:

Add Guild vs Guild.
Add more dungeons.
Add more pvp maps.
Add more skills to the weapons (maybe 2 or 3 sets per weapon)
Add more weapons.
Add new classes and races.
Add new map zones.
Add new dynamic events.

I did read the entirety of your post but it’s this list that I wanted to address. I don’t think for any reason ArenaNet is opposed to adding any of this to the game. As you and most other reasonable people know, it takes time to actually add these things to the game. Although it’s been a slow process, we’ve already gotten the following:
*A new zone, more to come
*Fractals
*New PvP maps
*New dynamic events

The next update will add a new dungeon path to TA. It’s not just another path if the screenshots are of any indication. It looks like there will be completely new areas, new enemies, and new bosses. New weapons, new skills, guild vs guild, new zones, and new personal story missions are already planned. It’s just a matter of when they get added to the game.

Totally agree. It’s actually been done by another gaming company who’s most recent title i’m playing right now. the gear isn’t time gated, they have periodic gear drop enhanced weekends, there are tons of what Arenanet would call meta events in this other title which give great drops, the ability to get great gear isn’t cutoff, and there aren’t multiple tiers that you have to grind for, and they have vendors that sell rare bop gear with special abilities on them periodically (1 hr) that you have to catch at the right time to see what they’ve got. The meta events are four types all challenging where you don’t need to know a dance to be effective.

Further, they added recently the ability to get what this game would call dungeon currency from these meta events so that no one need step into a dungeon to get the things they like.

So much better imo.

You don’t need Ascended gear to do anything in PvE or be competitive in WvW,

This is false. Ascended Armor is coming. In all, the small stat increases that each piece of Ascended gear give add up. If you don’t realize this now you’ll regret later having to grind for Ascended weapons AND Armor at the same time.

Of course, WvW may not survive all this vertical progression anyway, so perhaps you’re in a way correct.

As a matter of fact, constituting this player’s point, full ascended gear gives a 13% stat boost compared to full exotic gear, which is a huge difference, and very very very significant for WvW. Basically it means that if Anet doesn’t do something about this (and the skill lagg and the blobbing), they’ll loose a maior part of the PvP community to other games that have a better competitive system.

In a zerg, that 13% extra stats you got will bare matter.

If you solo roam, which wasn’t what VW was really designed around, it still wouldn’t change things much as the chances are you’ll get outnumbered.

Aside from this, WvW was never designed to be competitively balanced in the first place. Food, WvW rank and just the number of players each side has all distort the balance of the game mode.

The competitively balanced game mode was SPvP, but how we still haven’t got a death match mode or GvG in there is another story.
