How is it going to work?

A) I buy tickets, give to NPC in LA and after 2 weeks I (might) get a skin in mail I choose

B) I buy tickets, give to NPC in LA and after 2 weeks I (might) get a ticket in mail to choose a skin I want at the NPC

C) I buy tickets, give to NPC in LA and after 2 weeks I (might) get a random weapon in my mail

D) I buy tickets, give to NPC in LA and after 2 weeks I (might) get a ticket in mail to choose a skin I want at the NPC but before I get there, other people got the 100 Shields? (so ticket useless if you only want Shield)

I’m asking because most people not speaking English as main language do not understand the whole thing around this..

Second thing, since there are only 100 Shields available and about 800 skins or so.. You do know (when the answer is B & D) that people who got lucky with RnG with ticket + fastest internet/pc’s will get those Shields first right? I mean, ofcourse everyone will try for the GS and Shield first, since it’s very exclusive..

So I need this clarified before I even try.

The players on this forum will assume anything, in case you haven’t noticed.

It’s a simple lottery actually.

Every wrapper is a ticket that might have a chance at winning a weapon skin.

In total there will be 100+100+200+200+200+200=1000 winning tickets and maybe one (or more?) of those tickets belong to you.

What confuses me is when you go to NPC, you see the price of each skin is the same (1 ticket). And it remains the same ticket aswel.
So all I understand is that you get a ticket back, and can choose a skin. Though, others are saying you’ll get one sended randomly.. So I want an answer from Anet asap because this obviously confuses loads of players

Well, it does seem unlikely, but stranger things have happened. The dialogue is confusing. Sorry for being obtuse.

Looks more like B, and I anticipate a massive flood of QQ from various technical issues when everyone who returned wrappers stand ready at the NPC in 2 weeks to get the valuable skins.

I can’t imagine you get to choose. Let’s say every one of the 1000 winners chooses one of the available 100 weapon skins. Or 101 choose. Then what happens to the people that choose and don’t get? They rechoose? You choose and choose and choose and don’t get because people are choosing faster than you?

It’s much more likely to be C. You get mailed a random one and you don’t get to chose.

There should be 1k tickets send to players and pick up weapon you like [without limit, but it’s acc bound, just like wvw tickets]

If that was the case, I would 100% buy tickets. But since both ticket AND weapon choice is RnG, I won’t even bother.

No, those that will be picked earlier will get best skins. The system will pick 1000 players (well, 1000 wrappers) at random (regardless if they are logged or not) and assign skins in order they were picked.
And apparently those 1000 skins are for both realms (EU and NA) together.

I am surprised there isn’t a live count at least showing the current max. It would certainly encourage more sales.

Well considering that I played a minimal amount of time so far in regards to the Halloween content and given that during that time I received 3 candy wrappers if you carry that trend forward the sheer number of wrappers that will be turned in is mind boggling. Since there are only 100 prizes I think I will go outside and wait to get struck by lightning, the odds are much greater!

Regardless of the actual odds of getting 2 or more skins, the odds of someone posting on this forum that they got 2 or more skins are close to 100%.

I imagine it’s a random weapon as to devalue the items evenly across the board. If people got to choose, 1000 gs skins would enter the economy as opposed to a distribution of all the skins.

I think the entire point of this is to limit specific skins available numbers and your suggestion removes that control. I am not advocating either plan, just pointing out that you may be missing the point of WHY they are doing it like they are.

This is probably the reason. They don’t want the market flooded with 95% greatswords, 5% shields, and none of the rest, as would most likely happen.

it’s a multi-item raffle if you have a winning ticket you’ll get 1 of the items, simple as that.

One person will get shield for 3k gold, other person will get kittenty rifle for 60g, yay!

Yea I agree it’s very confusing. My English is fluent, but it’s still confusing.
