This…. is actually a good idea! Now all ANet would have to do is add more town clothes to the gem store, clothes that actually look halfway decent. (Always hated the default Charr clothes)

Wait for the blog posts on Tuesday. They will give answers to new town cloths, craftable town cloths and normal gear as town cloths. I except some other nice perks too.
kinds OP, but i think the idea of a rune that increases the walking speed in town would be nice, or any thing like this, for use of mobility in-town, so no one would abuse this to move faster out side of town, remember you can swap to town clothes outside as well..
They had some fun town clothes, and then they got rid of them.
I suspect they will use the new system to some how eliminate the old town clothes, especially the fun ones, without explaining why our old town clothes can’t be used in the new system.
Sure, I will ask them why it was changed, but I will never get an answer, as I’ve never gotten an answer on two other things they’ve changed with seemingly no game play related issues.

I don’t think any of these are OP for the PvE world. What matters most over in PvE is DPS.

This is a step to getting to that point.
If town clothes rune, somehow does not work to achieve expected results. Then ANet don’t have to waste time to make town clothes.

They meant for town clothes to mean something at the start of this game.
But they don’t mean a kitten thing.
In fact, it would be more sensible to have characters to automatically switch to town clothes, but that’s not the case….

Before the demo version was introduced, there were a lot of people wanting town clothes. That is why they add them.
I don’t like the idea that town clothes should be forced, but I like to have incentives to using them.
