Is there a way to remove the tracker in the top right corner that leads to unexplored vistas and areas? I have asked around and no one knows how to remove it.

Well… You could always explore then :p

AFAIK this tracker is on when your settings is .
settings > content guide > disable personal story

try making it settings > content guide > default. (back to story, if you still have)
im not sure though correct me if im wrong

For me that dropdown seems to do nothing, I select “Hide Events and Personal Story” and I still see everything.

Selecting ‘Off’ and Default hides the bit the OP’s asking about but everything else stays there,
