I know it works on any thing, but removing infusions means it was designed for leg/asc gear…

There is exotic gear with infusion slots, though.

It may be for economic reasons.

It may have been for economic reasons once. Today? Bot really.
So, basically, similar case as upping soft wood to 4 per plank – made sense once, but was forgotten and remains long after it stopped being useful.

Actions, not words.

But I also wouldnt make much sense, to revert the soft wood recipe now.

At least I cant think of a good reason that would justify to cut its demand by 25%.

It’s almost certainly for economic reasons, how many people would dump badges into exotic gear and salvage it if they could?
Or try to forge precursers with it, etc.

But you can do this with dungeon token gear is my biggest problem with it. I feel like if you were to spend X hours in WvW and X hours in dungeons, that you would get enough dungeon tokens to buy exotic items faster than you would with equivalent badges. If not, then they would be fairly close.

I have no numbers on this, merely speculation, so no sense throwing facts at me.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

I think the major difference is there’s no (as far as I know) daily limit on badges you can earn in WvW, and I suspect that’s the key difference.
Even if the dungeon is “faster” you can only earn so many tokens in a day.
I’m not saying I agree with it, I think it’s stupid, I have the badges for a set of gear but I want to use an expensive rune set. Using badges means a permanent loss of those runes, whereas armor obtained elsewhere I can always salvage my runes back.

I mean the least they can do is warn people it’s not salvageable/runes non recoverable.

From what I understand, anything that can’t be bought with gold exclusively or isn’t time gated to some extent such as dungeon gear (limited tokens per day with heavy DR) cannot be salvaged.
