Undocumented changed downed state color
They clearly have nothing else to fix so they fix things that don’t even need it… oh wait…
Yes, it no longer stands out as much as it should. The red was way more visible than the green, especially when there is some light falling on my monitor decreasing the contrast.

Displaying the health-bar in red not only implied urgency, it also meant that you could notice it easily out of the corner of the eye without really focusing the party-window too much.
This darker green lacks visibility – I sure hope that this was an oversight rather than intentional.
I’m disappointed by this change. I no longer notice when my friends get downed.
I still saw red when I got downed just now.
Well here’s one: ‘Not enough health’ as a system message…
…REALLY? When all the power bars are gone and there’s nothing to hit; was there really a need to put up a message like this?
I still saw red when I got downed just now.
It is not what you see, but those in your party
Why would they change this
Why would they change this
Probably because they once again forgot Death Shroud is not downed state. Apparently (I haven’t seen this yet) they changed the party UI to show when a Necro was in death shroud.
Hopefully this is just a bug and not intended. It’s just not needed and makes thing even more complicated.
The downed state color change really does make it hard to tell when a party member is down. Had numerous issues last night with the change and it caught everyone at points even after we were all paying attention to the fact that the change was hard to see. Please change the color back or go to a color that is different then green so that this is visible.

The green text and downed state health might be for St. Patrick’s day maybe?

This. Though I really hope you’re wrong. I hadn’t imagined they could be any lazier for a celebration, but this is just beyond pointless.

Was just about to make a thread about this , who in the right mind thought this was a good idea , its impossible to notice when someone is downed now , revert to red and stop this nonsense.
I just don’t understand why they made the change. It doesn’t make any sense to me. But maybe if the devs explained why they made it there is a good reason we don’t know about.
If it ain’t broke….
Is this an attempt to make the game harder or something? Red was a good color for this. Put it back please!
Pls revert to red, i have no idea who’s down and who’s not now.. Why even change something that already worked just fine??
I do’t think this was St Patty’s day change. Anyone know of an extend patch notes list outside of the forum category that has more details?

agreed this was not a good idea.
I really, really, STRONGLY dislike this change, and the green text.
The green text hurts my eyes.
The green downed bar makes it impossible to tell when someone is dying, unless your eyes are glued to teh party UI like they are to teh minimap (in pvp).
I dont want to have to pay attention to 3 parts of thes crene at the same time, I really liked being able to tell at a glance when someone got downed :/.
Also, the bars are much tinier in pvp. This may jsut be my oppinion, but I liked the big bars better, cosmnetically.

It would be nice if someone from the game’s staff would comment on whether the pointless green change was for St. Patrick’s Day or not. If not, would someone please explain the rationale for changing the color when no one saw it as a problem before?
So what color are the bars while you are rezing a defeated player?
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Since we are still seeing posts I am assuming its still green for down.

Its definitely a pain, I have to actually look carefully at the party to make sure no one is dying on me, instead of focusing on killing the boss…
Lady Shenanigans 80 Mesmer
i commented on another thread about this, but cosign. i hate the green downed bar.
it’s especially horrible for warriors and thieves (and i suppose guards and mesmers but not quite as much) in things like pvp and wvw and fractals, as these are generally the classes that perform a lot of resing using their stealth skills/res traits or in a warrior’s case, warbanner. it’s harder to see who is downed, and my party members are reaching full dead because my eye simply doesn’t jump to the green bar the way it did the red one.
Really hoping this is a bug, it makes absolutely no sense from a design standpoint otherwise.
PLS REVERT BACK TO RED DOWNSTATE HEALTH-BAR…..
Archeage = Farmville with PK
Undo it.
It is very hard to tell what’s going on after the change to green.
I want to help and rezz my party members, but the change just made it a lot more difficult to see it at the right time.
Red and green have a very good contrast, whereas green and dark green have not!!!!
Red is also very good to use for alarm signals and a downed party member needs attention as soon as possible.
Now it’s really bad designed. After the change it lost a lot of usability, it’s no longer user-friendly and just an unnecessary complication that was NOT needed.
Night two, and this time expecting it to be hard to notice, was still losing people since we couldn’t quickly tell they were down. And this has been just in dungeons, sPvP and PvE. WvW I image will be worse since it has the most distractions.
Any chance on getting clarification if this is a bug we should report or a planned feature?
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Light green = you’re alive
dark red = you’re downed
grey = dead
dark green should be = NECRO IN DEATHSHROUD, NO HE’S NOT ABOUT TO DIE, JUST DS!!! >_>

One thing I didn’t check, anyone see if this is now an option under display anywhere?

IT’S BEEN FIXED, BOYS N GIRLS. <3
Yay! Glad to hear it was a bug…. ^^
