Q:

On Tuesday I know we’ll know for sure how they’ve set this up, but I was hoping to get an answer before then if possible so I can make mini-plans for myself and my husband.

Certain minis require you to throw 3-4 other minis into the forge to create them.

Example: Festivoo the Merry

The three RNG based minis had to be thrown in the forge with some stuffing to make Festivoo. If someone was unable to get two sets of the minis, but did make Festivoo, will they now get access to the three minis they destroyed in order to create Festivoo?

I could only afford one set of the Adventure Box super minis and have not yet made the Super Assassin.

On Tuesday, can I toss my super minis into the forge and make the super assassin in turn unlocking all four of those minis?

The same goes for Mini Armored Scarlet Briar, Mini Ghost Carlotta, the Holographic Colossus, Princess Mia, Risen Abomination, and Chainsaw the Skeleton

Weapon & Armor skins that acted as a precursor or were consumed in the making of another skin were retroactively unlocked when the wardrobe first hit.

Now when we forge a weapon or armor we do not have unlocked that skin does unlock for us.

Will minis work the same way? I’d hate for people to unlock minis without understanding that they can use the forge recipes in order to unlock the originals and get the new one if this is indeed how this will work. There are a bunch of minis that I’ve wanted to make but hated losing my original minis.

Thank you if someone can officially answer this before patch day. <3

A:

Short answer – Each mini can only unlock itself in the wardrobe.

Minis being thrown in the forge does not unlock them. Unlike weapons and armor when you unlock a mini you get the whole mini functionality forever.. not just a skin unlock.

So in your example.. Creating Foostivoo does not automatically unlock the other 3.
Unlocking Foostivoo also does not unlock the 3 that made him.

This should mean relative demand for minis stays consistent with the current mini system where having foostivoo doesn’t give you 4 possible summons.

Thank you Curtis for the answer. While it makes me sad I won’t get to keep my current minis and also get Carlotta, I understand the reason behind this decision.

I have a bit of a burning question about trading minis. Say I’ve bought a few minis which a year later I’ve sold to make some funds towards other stuff in game… the minis aren’t in my collection anymore. Is this new functionality retroactive to minis that I’ve had in the collection, ie. does the system pick up that I’ve had these minis in my collection and unlock them, or do I have to actually have these minis in my collection at the time?

You have to physically have each mini in order to unlock it. From what they’ve said so far it looks like you’ll have to right click it and add it to the wardrobe collection. If you don’t currently have the mini you can’t put it in the wardrobe.

The system will still let people use the minis as we currently do (double click to put the mini out or put it away) but you cannot use the mini equipment slot unless that mini is unlocked into your wardrobe which requires permanently account binding/destroying the mini.

My only sad with the whole minis in the wardrobe is I’ve been letting my husband use my mini reef drake because he loves her so much but I also want it for my wardrobe. He gave me my reef drake back, but I will probably wind up giving it to him to unlock because I love my husband more than keeping the reef drake for myself. I’ll just have to farm up the gold to buy another and hope the price doesn’t keep creeping up out of my reach. I put up a bid for it earlier this week and just kept getting out-bid. I hate trading post wars.

No.

you will have to add them to the wardrobe.

Many people did this to get the achievements. Despite having the achievements, the mini they used, still exists somewhere.

if it was retroactive, you’d be getting mini’s for nothing.
