Terrible question OP. In some ways they’re heading in good directions and in some ways they’re heading in bad directions. I’d have to pick and choose features to respond. There’s no “one” direction in a game supporting multiple play styles. What if you like the way PvE is heading but hate the way SPvP is heading, or you hate the way the living story is, but you love WvW?

Simplifying something to this degree can only lead to misleading results.

I like the way the game is going in some ways. I dislike the way the game is going in others.

If the April patch is……. underwhelming, time to move on, free to play isn’t enough and I really thought it would be, my 2 bucks worth.

Just that none is forced to buy anything and the items aren’t necessary for any kind of progression. QQ’ing about the gemshop is even worse than saying GW2 is dead and Anet paid money to the media to rate it good.

Brings me back to WoW days when people said it was a sinking ship with nothing valueable in it.

Massive grinds, zerg-friendly content, skip-and-hide-in-corner-dungeons, only damage builds supremacy, gemstore direction, fugly unrealistic armor/weapon skins and weak, very weak story = not good but hey they can hide behind the “fastest selling” thing so what do I know.

None complained about any of this via release. People are just getting bored. If you actually disliked all of this and still played the game and actually bother checking the forums now, I have no comment.

Because after release all of this wasn’t so blatant, to me at least. I’m saying I don’t like the direction this is taking. It’s disheartening, I see this attitude a lot in the forums “if you complain so much why don’t leave, go play something else, everything’s fine here”. There’s things that I like, of course, which is why I stick around. And while I do, I will have an opinion.

The new wardrobe system along with the account wide dye unlocks and the ability to redistribute traits anywhere while out of combat, sounds absolutely fantastic. I feel genuinely optimistic about this game now and can’t wait for the April Feature pack. It’s amazing how tweaks like this add SO much to the game.

Having said that, class balance is still pretty bad. I want to see professions like the Necro be buffed and able to compete with other professions in dungeons and fractals.

Seems a good way to go to me its what these forums have been asking for it just takes time for these new things to come out. At best a lot of ppl come off sounding like they want more so even if they are unhappy with what they have they still enjoy what coming out they just like to complain a lot. (you find that reading though ppl old post they tend to say they want something and once they get it they just complain about it I must say that a very sad way to live a life they will never be truly happy.)

This will be to biased of a poll because there is no real yes or no answer it’s all in the interpretation. You either like the game or you hate it, or you are just hanging on till something better comes along. Also there are the trolls that just don’t play anymore but hang out here because they just can’t let go. I like the game but I find myself not logging in as much as I did a year ago. So is this game going in the right direction as long as people still play I would say yes.

I don’t care tbh.
Just let ‘em get on and do their thing – there’ll be plenty of time for moaning, after the update drops, without the need of ‘theorycraft whining’ beforehand.
Whether (or not) the game moves in the direction any player wishes is neither here nor there – there’s bugger all anyone can do about it anyway.

Yes, I’m enjoying the game. I still feel it needs an expansion as things are getting a bit stale.

With that said, I’m on one of the smaller servers and my guild is growing. Not sure what your guys’s issue is.

What is wrong with you what do you think this game is for to make you happy its to make money at the end of the day the thing Anet has done that no other games for the most part is let you take in game gold and make it into gems. If you wanted to stop thinking them as gems but a gold cost if that makes you happy.

I just do not get some ppl you hand them a sliver spoon on a sliver platter and they complain about it not being gold.

What!? I Agree with nGumball.1283 and I wanted to see a good argument against this since so many are sure that the Gemstore is robbing us? So at your last comment I don’t get it at all what you are on about.

Same updates make me say yes (wardrobe)
Some make me say no (trait system)
Will the patch be good? Can’t answer till I heard all about it.
Where Anet is heading with their game? I think that they’re ripping themselves in half trying to walk all directions at the moment and should actually pick a direction.
Would I still recommend this game? I don’t know. Probably yes.

In short, this is more than a yes/no question. It requires debating and every single opinion on this is going to be very subjective anyway.

Yes. They are finally showing that Kristin Cox and Nexon’s grasp has been weakened. Maybe this will mean we’ll see more armor options outside of the gem store, too. Everything released so far sounds great.

The last announcement seems pretty nice.

• New grandmaster traits: Yes
• Unlocking trait: Yes (but not my characters are not affected…)
• Resetting trait: No (I like it that there was some kind of restriction so that there is a uniqueness on every character. Now there will be less.)
• Sigil/Rune change: Big Yes
• Crit Dmg change: Small Yes, need more changes (Don’t think this will change anything. They need to make change where players need to take more risk using zerk gear rather than decreasing damage. And this change will hit worse on gears like valkyrie or cavalier instead of making them more useful.)
• Wardrobe: Don’t know… (I was hoping more like gear template where you can switch to DPS gear or fractal gear by selecting preset templates. I don’t think there will be such function.)
• Account bound Dye: Personally I don’t care

No. But Wildstar is out soon so it doesn’t concern me.

Yesterday I would have said no but the wardrobe change is seriously the best change ever. There is still hope!

OMG I can’t believe you said the part I underlined in your statement, games ARE to make one happy/amused not to continuously line their pockets(that’s what boxed/digital sales are for, not gem store scam sales), I loathe the gem shop scheme/scam(to me and most likely me alone thinks this way unfortunately). Happy gaming(or not, since, by your statement gaming isn’t for fun).
