Wait, SotG said Warriors are getting BUFFED?
Yep, after patch, everyone will just roll the new Warrior meta, 30-30-30-30-30.
More like if when you PvE you’ll use one trait build, and when you WvW you’ll use another. And in both cases you’ll be the best profession.
There has been hundreds topics about their fail attempt at balancing, but I’m going to say it here too – warriors didn’t need more damage. They don’t need a buff at least when we’re talking about damage. It’s even worse that now there’s a signet that makes 3 of their attacks unblockable. Really bad balancing.
The damage is against people with boons, not with boons on you (correct me If I heard it wrong in sotg).
Either way warriors need help in pvp, removing some flat damage boost for 3 unblockable hits isn’t a pve buff.

warriors might need help with condition removal abilities. They, however, deal more damage than any other class in both pvp and pve. They might need some help (I personally don’t think so, but hey, maybe they do), but it’s certainly not in damage department.
They aren’t getting any more damage though. The unblockable signet removes the passive power bonus (when it used to give more damage) and boonhate is 30 in discipline.
tbh it’s giving more options for good play, timing your signet well rather than spamming it as often as possible for might seems like a better gameplay.
So, a build that has been OP for a few months (Ele) ONLY in PVP and gets nerfed to the ground, it is OP no denying it.
Another build has been OP for even more months (Warrior) ONLY in PVE and nothing happened to “solve” that issue…
Balancing the game over what a minority of the population does and keeping everything the same on what the vast majority does. Go figure.
Not to mention that the particular super-OP Ele build isn’t as effective in PVE as in PVP, actually it’s on the middle ground, not awesome, not terrible, but yes only nerfs to that.
The only answer I can give to explain their balancing is: eSports!

discipline if I remember is critical damage? Most warriors spec for that anyway.

crit damage and warrior burst(F1) mechanic traits.. It’s well suited for eviscerate or killshot warriors, I suppose, but I’ve never gone deep into Discipline myself. I sometimes put some points into it for the reduced weapon swap recharge.
The warrior is the worst pvp profession at the moment, and several of the buffs mentioned are mostly for pvp builds.
No buff was mentioned to their overpowered hundred blades pve build.
SotG should be SotPvPG as everything there directly relates to PvP. I have always wondered why they focus on PvP when the majority of players play PvE. I’m not saying they shouldn’t focus on PvP, it’s just shouldn’t be the premise for all game affairs specially when it doesn’t relate to your mass base.
i doubt guardians can be slaughtered easily..
they can just use 2 dodge + vigor / endurance sigil as the third to nullify might signets,
and protection pretty much nullifies boonhate trait.
warr must go 30 disc to get boonhate trait,.. soo the dmg lost =/= dmg gain from the trait.. where if they go glass, that 30 points could be equal to 300power/300persicion. even then, guardian could nullify glass warrs dmg just fine!
overpowered hundred blades? lol!! you must be soo jealous of cof speed runners!

Because the SOTG is not organized by the developers, but by pvp players who want to discuss the pvp meta. So yes, being a “SotPvPG” was pretty much its point since the beginning.
This is a two in one balance attempt from ANet.
1. reduce the effectiveness of boon bunkers in SPVP.
2. provide a reason for playing warrior in SPVP.
It has kitten all to do with PVE or WVW.
In essence, ANet is still pegged on turning SPVP into a esport.

Most warriors don’t spec 30 into discipline. The crit damage is nice, but the secondary stat is negligible (3% increased damage on burst skills with 30 points).
The damage increase from Boon Hate isn’t nearly as useful as many people think it will be. Right now with a glass cannon greatsword build, it’s possible to hit 38% increased damage semi-permanently with traits with an on demand increase up to 50% damage if using Lyssa runes. Boon Hate would replace one of the following:
1) 10% increased trait from strength or arms which also reduces either power or crit as well as the secondary stats. This would require Boon Hate to hit a target with four boons for a 2% damage increase (which is probably lost from the reduced power or crit anyway).
2) a 6% semi-permanent increase which bumps up to 18% on demand with Lyssa runes and Empowered. This would require six boons for Boon Hate to match Empowered with Lyssa runes.
There will be situations where Boon Hate does pull ahead, but it gives up the warrior’s control to determine when and on which targets it will have it’s damage increased. I, as well as many other warriors, do not see ourselves sacrificing base stats and control of our own damage increases to pick up a trait that has it’s usefulness determined by our opponents.
I’ve grown accustomed to baiting out blocks, so I don’t see myself sacrificing a utility spot for Signet of Might either. It’s too situational for my liking.
I agree with most of the community that damage increases (I’d happily trade some of warrior’s already high damage for meaningful changes) and a way to get around a few blocks aren’t the buffs a warrior needs to be viable in organized pvp. Making warriors more self reliant with some minor tweaks to traits and utility skills (condition removal in particular) as well as fixing some bugs and pathing issues would have been more appropriate.

A couple months ago, a dev in the warrior forum had a discussion where many players mentioned a rework and nerfs to Hundred Blades so that more viable and meaningful changes can be made to the warrior without causing HB to be even more problematic than it is now. Hopefully, we will see something in the future.
