So people buying GW2 are getting a free upgrade to digital deluxe edition. So to all the thousands of us who brought this game from the start, we can basically go without ! ?
And while your at it Anet, you may as well flip us the finger too !

Thanks.. for nothing !

I bought fallout: new vegas complete with all DLC for 10$, while someone at release paid 60$ for the vanilla game. The dlc were like 10$ each. Prices drop all the time, especially with sales, it’s a pretty common thing with software.

Nature of the business, not necessarily an issue with ANet. This happens all the time. Happens with cell phones, laptops, tablets, software, etc. etc. You want something all shiny and bleeding edge, you pay more. Wait and the bargains come. Such is the way of business.

The digital deluxe version is a bunch of one time use only items plus a summon skill with a useless pet. It’s not THAT good.

I bought the digital deluxe the day pre-orders were possible. The only thing any of the ‘bonuses’ are remotely good for is making leveling a character slightly easier.

1) Mistfire Wolf – Great, you’re guaranteed to have an elite skill at 30. Once you have a class elite you forget you have it.
2) Golem Banker – Good for the first few days a character exists (times out after 4? days) but honestly I forget about it because Deposit Collectibles and almost everything else gets sold. You very rarely need bank access unless you’re already in a town or at a crafting table.
3) Chalice/Tome – These are nice little boosts and all but long term you’ll forget they existed (I did).
4) Rytlock Mini – Okay, If you REALLY care about a single mini this kind of matters but honestly… it’s a mini.

I don’t regret buying the DD version of the game because it tells Anet “I really really like and care about this game.” I don’t really care about any of the stuff though. Complaining about the industry standard of those late to the party save money on some fluff is just silly.

Oh I agree. But its not the items, its the principal Im questioning. Player A should not be treated any better (or worse) than player B.
We already have enough of that attitude from most big companies, After all Anets promises I guess I just expected more from them.

Yeah It’s not something I would worry about personally and trust me I am the loudest person here when it comes to corporate mishaps or manipulations, they didn’t do anything extraordinary with this deal. If it brings in new people that’s good, I wouldn’t personally go after trying to get this for free honestly.

You bought this during release, you got to play it months before player B sets their hands on it. Anet obviously flip their finger to player B because player A gets to play it a lot sooner and more than player B = higher level, more gold and better gear. Right?

So using your logic, Anet gave the finger to both you and the new player amirite?
