What GW2 race would you create?
Dragonian
The dragonian is a new race produced by experimenting with the elder dragons DNA. They take the form (theme) of an elder dragon and gain different advantages (racial skills).
Glaustian
They were born from the essence of Glint when she was killed.
They are largely humanoid in form but have crystalline scars over their skin and glowing eyes. Their bodies have slight deformities in the shape of crystal structures but these vary from Glaustian to Glaustian. They each have a small part of Glint within them and this gives them their life force.
Their cultural home would be in the Crystal Desert. I envisage an underground crystalline cave, much like glints lair except less bright and colourful. Their structures made from rock and crystal hybrid. At the centre would lie a giant crystal formation where Glaustians would meet and make important decisions for their race.
Wow man.
That is a great concept. Anet please do something like this. The lore and history that could be born out of a race like this would be amazing.
This guy. I think he’s supposed to be a minotaur but he seems to have some caprine qualities as well. At least he stands up straight and probably won’t need a neck brace when he’s a senior citizen.
Hey! He could be representative of what the charr were before some dragon or whatever corrupted them and gave them their bad posture.

This must be the coolest new race idea I have seen – Glint was well on her way to become an elder dragon so it would fit
I kind of like the anubis-like creatures idea too – just not sure how they would add them lore-wise.

I’d probably uninstall the game if they added anything like that ><

As another poster has already said, Glint was on her way to becoming an elder dragon so clearly possessed some strong powers. I think that a spike in her powers upon her death would probably be enough to momentarily generate enough energy to give life (/‘corrupt’) a race of beings, even though she wasn’t a fully fledged elder dragon yet.
Also as Glint had powers over the mind it could be that rather than having enough power to give life to a new race, she was simply able to impose her mark upon the minds of those already born – thus more of a positive corruption than birth of new race.

P.S thanks all for the kind feedback on the original suggestion

I truly believe no mmo is complete without an Elf Race. But that’s just me.

Well…you could argue that the Asura are elves. Small guys, big ears…make stuff. Sounds like Santa’s little helpers = elves.
Of course, do you mean the stereotypical elves first truly written as such by Tolkien? Not the old germanic or olde English folklore where elves were mischievous and afflicted illnesses upon humans and livestock.

I guess I always saw the Sylvari as more of the “Elf” Race of GW2. But I think it would be interesting to see more of an earthen-humanoid creature. And by that I mean something that is something of a mixture between a human and Sylvari. Maybe human features but born from some other means. Maybe deep in the Hall of Ascension the Gods create a new race to bring the continents together.
Seems like I recall someone equating humans in GW2 with elves elsewhere. A race perhaps somewhat in decline, with their glory days behind them…

I’d accept elves if they were Dragon Age elves.
A dirty, broken people with no culture or history, barely scraping by as outlanders and slaves. Dragon Age made me feel good.
Besides, Sylvari are the elves of GW2. The only difference is, I liked them, at first. Formerly. Living Story pretty much ruined the Sylvari for me, and that makes me sad.
As for what I’d make, we have animal and vegetable, so why not mineral, as someone suggested? Rock-people.. wait, no, that was really lame in WildStar. Metal-people? Also really lame in WildStar. HRM.
Golems that overcome their sedition inhibitors? But maybe not. If they can’t even get Charr armor right, can you imagine the clipping issues on a golem?

Impressions
The Impressions, sentient djinn-like creatures comprised of a single gem heart surrounded by floating liquid, are a bit of an enigma. They only recently appeared from the unexplored underbelly of Tyria – its darkest crevices and deepest oceans.
It does not help that their method of communication is so cryptic and vague. They do not speak in the traditional sense, but they appear to be capable of comprehending language and they can change the color of their fluid bodies to convey emotions. A more intimate form of communication was discovered when Priory explorers observed Impressions touching their hearts together – and diplomatic experiments have revealed that any other race can mentally communicate with one by grabbing one of their hearts. This is obviously a risky measure, as it is difficult to obtain the consent of one who cannot speak, but the information gained from this could be invaluable and there is little doubt that continued exposure to the other races of Tyria will make the anxious Impressions more trusting.
