The game will just die more. I dont care if its not an xpac, I just want xpac sized. Theyve had long enough and the majority of the community ive talked to believes it to be an expansion. If its just season 3(which I doubt) then there will be a lot of hell to ensue. People have stayed here for 2.5 years waiting for something massive and its time to see if were really gonna get it.

I think it will be something xpac like and not season 3 simply because they haven’t trademarked seasons and given them a logo. Nor have they built up this much hype and advertised something like a season to the public. You don’t do that because no one outside of the gw2 community knows what a living world season is. However gamers know what an xpac is.

On a related note, I always thought Anet said the game would be free to play after initial purchase, so if this is still the case, then any big update should be free (as the others have been before it).

I’d have to see the exact wording to be sure you haven’t seen something that I was unaware of, but everything I’ve seen indicates that by that they’re ruling out any form of subscription-based system, not any possibility of paid-for expansions.

Agreed. They also promised that we could play the way we wanted and that there would be no grind. We all know those turned out to be lies hype, so I wouldn’t hold them to a free whatever-PAX-turns-out-to-be.

Browsing for news of the expansion see if it excites me / renews my interest. Unlike some people who seem to struggle to play 1 game, I can play several, just switch between them, depending on which is more interesting atm…

Hmm.. Anet has over 300 employees (more than needed to keep up balance updates and living story seasons) and they do know that they have to deliver something new at some point.. So they will likely have interesting news to announce

Then again people built up high hopes → easy to get disappointed..

My guess: Some will rage for a while, Some will quit.. Most will stay and keep on playing

Oh and my personal favorite, that they’d be adding to the open world events in every zone monthly to increase dramatically the activity in the world to make it seem more alive.
