What really caught my eyes from the update are the utility infusions. Can a dev give us some information with regards to what they are and how to obtain them?

This is purely speculation, but does it mean these infusions will be akin to rune set bonus and provide some kind of buff/summon/twist when certain conditions are met?

Perhaps like a set bonus for having certain infusions? Maybe effect on hit or on struck?

If you’re right, it would make infusion slots useful in other parts of the game outside of Fractals. I hope you’re right.

I guess you are referring to this.

-2% duration per piece of item, so that would be -8% agony duration with all pieces of ascended gear. The question here is that agony is based on ticks, 8% of 9 ticks would be less than 1 tick. Does it round up and reduce it by 1 tick or does it simply not have an effect until you have a much bigger set, say, 2 earrings, 2 rings, back, and amulet, for a total of -12% duration?

uh its probably more like the current infusions that you can craft that have additional stats. Like the hearty infusion which gives +5 vitality in addition to the +5 agony resistance.

These infusions cost ludicrous amounts of T6 mats right now, so they may be using the new system to allow players to get them without spending tons of gold.
