Let’s speculate
(I think it’s something inside the tower, but that light like a clear and open sky is strange to me >.>)

It is a construct, built to hold back the most terrifying of things.
A dimension which contains beings of great malevolence, total disregard to every life form in this space.
It is Gozer the Traveller, he will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii, the Traveller came as a large and moving Torb!
The Asura tried to communicate with this being using one of the first Asura Gates.
They quickly learned that it was a mistake. One of great consequence.
All of their magic and technology could not kill that which was eternal.
That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die.
So they sealed up that dimension, but someone had to go and peek through didn’t they?!
Congrats, we’re going to be destroyed by a giant marshmallow Quaggan.
^^^^^^^ This Atlas got it right lol
(just about sprayed my screen with my drink I laughed so hard!)
It’s clearly outworld. Tyria is in danger of losing their 10th tournament and the greatest warriors need to band together and defeat Shao Khan.

Moot-al Combat?
The Kaiju come out of that portal. Now Tyrians must build Jaegers to combat these strange giant creatures that will come out the breach.
Woa, dude, that’s Woodstock! And Santana is playing Soul Sacrifice!

best reply i’ve ever seen on a forum ever in my history of being on the internet..you win at life.
Looks like the Atherblade Pirate ship landing area in Twilight Arbor Aetherblade path.
A gate to Outland. Yes. GW2 to become World of Guildcraft 2. Only groups of 25 may enter, and when you do your gear becomes obsolete. 15$ will vanish from your wallet, but the bugs will stay though, so you wont feel lonely.
I see a bad story plot with Scarlet, that’s about to drop from the sky.
It’s a portal to the long awaited expansion to Guild Wars 2. You see that building peeking through? That’s one of the buildings in Kaineng City. Go through to reach Cantha then take a boat from the dock to reach Elona.
If only we had a ladder that was tall enough. :/
You’re all wrong, it’s a portal readying for the Morganite invasion.
This is the first thread on these forums that has made me smile in a very long time. Thank you OP and Atlas

Explains all those “Finish Them” messages!
It’s obviously a scaffolding that holds up the cardboard decorations.
In a serious sense, the mists.
I mean how else do they get to WvW? What? Via fractals?

See? it all adds up.

How about giving credit to the (at least) two quotes you plagiarized?
(edited by pdg.8462)
Wow pdg, upset about something?
Considering how GHOSTBUSTERS has permeated so much into pop culture I figured it wouldn’t need any explanation.
Now I’ll admit that HP Lovecraft’s works are sometimes missed out by folks, but chances are they have seen enough scary movies to at least get the theme.
Heck, even Thirdspace from BABYLON 5 borrowed from the Cthulhu, or at least the Elder God, theme. (The Asura gate part of my post, in case you were wondering got inspiration from there.)
If you want to play Mr Wiki on a joke thread fine, but please calm down.
Atlas….only thing missing was Rick Moranis’s voice, my imagination filled in for the lack of vocals.
Still makes me laugh, well played Sir!

These lines are so well known, credit isn’t needed. It was expected that the vast majority of people would know the sources. And this isn’t a research paper that needs a citation for each quote.
@Atlas
Well done. That one made me laugh out loud.

Anyone said Nyarlathotep?

You just won the internet, how does it feel?

This would explain and justify all of Scarlet’s actions. What she saw was Cantha and she became so enraged by not being able to reach it that she went insane trying to figure out a way how. Clearly combining magic sources from many different evil factions allows her to create a gateway powerful enough to reach Cantha.
Oh is this like one of those ink blot tests ! i see a couple having… no i better say butterflies instead .

Cute attachment, with all this talk of the Elder Gods I’m now playing my playlist of A Shoggoth on the Roof .
It is not a portal, but a looking glass. It shows the structures built by the minions of the elder dragons to contain the human gods form restoring their greatness and the greatness of their followers.
Only by breaking through this imagery can one achieve the true level of knowledge and be ascended like the heroes of old. And through your ascension, you can unleash the power of the gods and vanquish all enemies!
