What happened to Dragon Ball?
I never played dragon ball in Guild Wars 1. What’s different about it?
The biggest differences were the lack of evades and that the balls 1 hit if I remember correctly.
So you prefer we can’t dodge and we get 1 hit?
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
dodging would be interesting. The map was also a lot more open and I personally found that the 1-hit made it a lot more interesting
You could dodge projectiles in GW1.
In GW1 you could dodge slow moving projectiles like the Dragon ball orbs. In Dragon ball GW1 the idea was to dodge the projectiles by strafing (no dodge there) and hit the enemies with your own orbs. The longer the range, the easier to dodge the projectiles, so you had to either go closer to your opponent, or use team tactics (many players attacking the same one)
The map was way more open, no hiding spots, no health orbs or power ups (you were 1-shotted anyway).
I like the GW2 version of Dragon Ball, but it is very laggy, the attacks lack precision, you get “obstructed” messages when you are next to your foe, projectiles miss without reason even when the opponent isn’t strafing, frustrating team system, no win rewards, no penalty for leavers/afkers, the list goes on.
The game itself is fun for me, reminds me of old school shooters but it is plagued with similar issues that have been negatively affecting Activities and Hotjoin PVP since release.
im with you maddoctor, in the 1st year the game wasnt lagging at all… dunno why is now… i personally love the gw2 version, more tactital… but as you said it lack of precision and for us to gain 5 ap from 100 interrupts is very frustrating, playing the game definitely not rewarding and because the buggy volunteer make its hard to get the 5 wins…
Second worst thing they have added to GW2 (worst being NPE).
Never played the minigame in GW1, but it took me 2 games to decide I would not attempt to get this extra daily laurel. I don’t understand how people that hate this game can torture themselves so (in their spare time!) for the equivalent of what, a bit more than a gold?
Freeza is coming back i heard.
…oh wait
Ya’ll need to get out more often if this is the biggest problem in your lives right now.

I have never played the gw1 dragon ball, but i have to say apart from the interupt daily being impossible and only rewarding winning teams. The gamemode itself is really fun to me and i atleast get the extra laural every day.

Please quote where someone said this was their biggest problem in their life.
Oh.. they didn’t.
I didn’t like the original dragon ball at all. The one game I loved from the original Guild Wars was roller-beetle racing. But the dodge ball thing. Didn’t find that particularly enjoyable.
I do like the Dragonball in Guild Wars 2, and play it longer than I need to sometimes.
I absolutely disagree. I played Guild Wars 1 for about 6 years, and a whole lot of dragon ball every time it was available. However, I much more prefer it in this game. The combat is much more dynamic and skill-based.
The only problem I have with it is that lack of ability to play with your friends. It should just be like conquest where you can join with a party and what ever number of players your lacking just gets slotted with randos.
Seriously gets annoying when you’re teamed with newbs that don’t look at the /team chat and continuously solo run in and get mobbed.
the biggest problem is the lag… it makes it impossible to enjoy the game… dunno if any of you doesnt get affected by the lag…
I honestly don’t understand what all the complaints are about. Dragon Ball is one of my favorite activities, next to Southsun Survival.
Granted, it would be a lot easier if we had a crosshair on the screen. It’s impossible to hit a target who’s lagging with projectiles because of the “obstructed” bug.
I haven’t played Dragon Ball, because it doesn’t seem like my kind of activity, so I have no opinion on this version of it either way. But I do want to say something about this:
It is literally the least fun thing I’ve ever felt forced to do in this game and I can’t not do it because then I miss out on the daily laurel.
Then don’t do it. You’re not even complaining about needing to do it to get a unique skin or something like that: Laurels, and everything you can get with them, are accessible just from logging in.
Yeah, it’ll take longer, but save the “I’m forced to do <thing I don’t like> for <thing I want>” for when you’re being blocked from something exclusive.

I can’t quote the guy as his post was removed but he used quite a few expletives towards anet and made it seem like his world was crashing down. Just saying this is a really petty problem to be sharpening your pitchforks over.
Don’t like it, don’t play it.

Tbh this dragon ball in gw2 was my fave event. last year i really enjoy playing the game… but today… the lag takes the joy away… far away… i like it and i want to play it for 2 weeks… and of course to wrapped all the achievements available…
I guess the only one not affected by the lag are the players from NA, since EU and Asia having a massive lag issue when playing Dragon Ball…
