Source for this? I bet you can’t find it.

Isn’t ArenaNet going to ruin the game by making their game more like all the other MMORPGs?
No. ArenaNet has specifically said that they are not trying to make another World of Warcraft clone. Their core ideals of accessibility, playing how you want to play, the ability to play with your friends, and not having to wait until maximum level to ‘begin playing the game’ have been prominently mentioned in the press for the game. The game also does not use the conventional “Holy Trinity” system of DPS, healer, and tank, but instead uses a damage, control, and support system. 1

To make playing in our open world worthwhile, we’ll make it rewarding enough for players to spend their time there across all levels. The fact that one outlier method has been taken away from someone does not limit their choices that much. Oh they took away crafting as a way to get to 80. Well, guess what, it wasn’t intended to allow you to do that. It doesn’t mean that there aren’t tons of other alternatives. Just the outlier ones are being restricted.

You seem to have changed your mind in a month.

But you can make the same or more running the champ train and you’re not “stuck” in a dungeon. You can always try a couple and see if you like it. If you do, I suggest watching video first so you can at least know what to expect.

How do you make good money on a Champ train. Don’t they only give a few silver each? I guess the gear you get nets a bit more, or maybe I’m running the wrong train?

Salvage and sell my friend. If you do the Frostgorge Sound champ train, you can make average 7-8g per hour (sometimes little less, sometimes more). Personally, I salvage all except exotics worth 1g or more. you get lots of T6 mats, and with salvage, you’ll get lots of silk. You get lots of blues and greens as drops. You also get dropped silver plus whatever silver you get in the champ bags/boxes. If I do the champ train Saturday and Sunday morning for a few hours I will net about 50g.

Ahh cool. That’s where I’m going wrong then. I’m still leveling all Crafting so I always just deposit all to my collection where ever I go.

Thanks, I will do Frostgorge soon. I’ve been running the Queensdale one.

Ha ha. On my level 80 of course. I always level up the right way

But you shouldn’t have been running the train at all. According to some it was a toxic mindless zerg that has been the bane of every new player in the game. You should have been earning gold and mats by doing dungeons, exploring, WvW, and world events, that’s the right way. See how that works?

Ah, again with this horrid misinterpretation of their manifesto.

I don’t like that they took away almost every champion from QD, but I can see why they did it. There was a bunch of controversy and silly arguments whenever someone killed a champion early and whatnot.

Also, Frostgorge Sound’s train is still up and running, so everyone can still farm without any major problems.

Uhm no one mentioned the manifesto and this anti-forum post argument is invalid at this point. You can’t misquote yourself, everything that was said was said both on video of multiple interviews during the launch process as well as in the reddit forums and many of the things they claimed this game would be are still on the front page concerning balance, rewards, and adventure. So you can stop using the manifesto as a crutch to try to make it seem like people don’t know what’s happening here, thanks.

I agree with the OP and the second poster about what’s happened/ing to this title, we would appreciate a bit of response about this.

Exactly not to mention that there was a promise a few months back of a completely redone rewards system because they admitted to it not being rewarding enough to play.

Fair enough. Did I say I was upset in any way they removed the train for me? In fact, I suggested they removed all Champions from low level zones and had them only in higher level zones. And I have actually moved on to World Bosses.

This stuff really is quite ironic, considering it’s coming from the same people who would complain their heads off if someone who was “playing how they want to play” happened to kill a champion “out of order” in the zone.

“Play how you want to play, unless it gets in my way; then you’re a terrible person who doesn’t play the right way.”

I logged in just so I could give this post a ‘thumbs up’.
