What species would you truly play?
I would love to play Scritt, Tengu, Largos, Quaggan. In that order.
I want to play dwarf
They already ruined the lore, may as well add them, it doesn’t matter at this point
Q: What species would you truly play?
A: Dunmer, Bosmer, or Redguard.
Skritt!
you may think I’d be a thief, but you’d be wrong. Mesmer Skritt!
Skritt on their own are kind of stupid though, so I suggest that every playable Skritt “character” is in fact a little group of 5 Skritt that works together as one (quite literally). That should be fun.

Yeah, nah not really. Think about it even humans way back when were as stupid as anything when they were separated and in small caveman groups. Then people started to come together to make villages, towns etc and the pool of the combined knowledge lead to smarter people over time due to the sharing of the collective skills/knowledge.
The same could be said for the skritt who ALREADY share towns with us humans and other races. Perhaps they have already gained stronger intelligence due to the fact they have been around many others for so long.
We’ll for me Skrit would beperfect to play. But I’m afraid that if we will se another race in game it probably be Kodan.
I would totally play tengu and largos, and even kodan.

Kodan would be a strong choice to make a new playable race. However I’m not sure Anet would go down that road, they would probably then be accused of trying to be like that other game as polar bears could be said to be very similar to pandas…
I’m surprised no one mentioned the kodan…
I am surprised somebody would. A generic ice bear with 0 customization options, with no difference between male & female with the exception of the voice.
As for me,
I can definetely see myself playing as the most pinkish and colourful tengu out there.
In a dreamworld, my choice would be a form of undead/risen serving Palawa Joko. Breach the blasted gates of Crystal Desert!
I would totally play a jungle wurm, but I suspect the armor choices might be limited.

I was only half serious. I think Skritt individually just won’t work for scholar classes like the elementalist. It goes against what’s been established about them until now.
I sincerely doubt we’ll see any of the “lesser” races of Tyria as playable soon. I’m still putting my money on the Tengu and maybe the Kodan. Making the Largos playable would instantly take away all the mystery that currently surrounds them, that just wouldn’t work IMO.
Tengu, the concept art for them just presents so many options, a great choice for people who want to play a brightly colored race without having to be a flower.
Dwarves, if it is possible to find a way to reverse the ritual on some of them, and if it could be worked into the story.
Elonian in exile, not a separate race from humans, but alternate character creation options for a slightly different personal story. I want to see a revival of the true Sunspears.
I’m not too interested in ratmen or frogmen, the ones in Guild Wars don’t seem to have a very defined culture the way that Tengu and Dwarves do.
Talon Silverwing the Tengu Henchman was often in my party before the Heroes made him obsolete.
But, I know non-human races are very popular in mmos, developers need to take note. I think Neverwinter not having Dragonborn at launch was a catastrophe, they are a player’s handbook 1 race. Instead that game had 8 different types of elves! (I count halflings as short elves, because that’s what they essentially are in current DnD)

Kodans. Big adorable bears. The elite norn bear form is not enough. Perma-polar bear form is a must!

Must…not…enter…nerd-rage
1.) Dragonborn is not a race
2.) Neverwinters races are based on the D&D…actually, I write it down: Dungeons & Dragons Role Playing game base. This is the handbook?
3.) Cant think of any lore that describes Halflings being related to elves
Couldnt resist.
I’d like to be an Ooze.
I presently main a Charr engineer, and that’s pretty cool.
If given an option, I’d go a Hylek engineer. Oh yeah, that’d be hella kitten.
I only enjoy pretty humanoid races, I am boring that way. Asura is humanoid enough for my taste but only because they are cute and very small. Running feels faster for them.
My partner on the other hand enjoys anything not human.
Ideally I would love to see something humanoid and pretty and something that is exactly the opposite, that way everyone should be happy.
Largos
Ogre
Centaur
Seer. Done and done
