and for those who say dwarves are all turned to stone, its broadly hinted in several heart quest around that there is a good possibility that not all the dwarves are dead and gone.

Well, Ree in an interview said just that.

Let’s assume she lied or was intentionally misleading though, and there are dwarves out there who aren’t stone. What now? They went to a lot of effort to remake sylvari and distance them from looking like stock fantasy elves. Why would they then turn around and add stock fantasy stout-men-with-beards to the player roster?

Now that I think more about this, I would like to see something that isn’t already in the game. Something new that most MMOs don’t ever use.

Kindred.

I think Kindred would be an awesome addition. Just picture their leveling areas and towns. It would be almost Kurzick-like (for those that remember in GW1). Plus the gothic styles for Cultural Armors and it would give GW2 that dark side that it doesn’t have. It would be something different and add new flavor in my opinion.

By “Kindred”… do you mean World of Darkness style Vampires?

Yeah just like in Masquerade: Bloodlines and such. Vampire Clans with a bit of class, but still embrace the fact that they are vampires and relish in it.

I don’t mean my little pony sparkle time vampires who are emo and cry about being a vampire.

im probably the only person who wanna play the Krait >_<

I wouldn’t mind playing a Krait, but the fact that they have no Legs, and therefore no place to equip Pants and Shoes, would make them difficult to implement. Would we put existing Leg and Feet equipment on them, have it appear as some kind of… tail wrap… and just pretend the item doesn’t say “Totally Sweet Boots of Sexiness” on the item description? Would Krait/Naga/Whatever get totally new personalized footwear with identical stats to everyone else’s that drops and clutters up the inventories of the bipedal races? Would your Boots of Sexiness be coded so that if a Krait player buys them, they become a Tail-Scarf of Sexiness as soon as they enter your inventory? What about Powers that specifically animate using the feet? Warriors Kick? Engineer’s Rocket Boots?

There are ways ANet could do this… but it would be a pretty big hassle. It would also cut heavily into animator resources, since a lot of the animations they make now can be tweaked relatively easily between different bipedal rigs – even very different ones like Charr and Asura – while all serpentine rig animations would have to be built completely from scratch. And using Motion Capture would be impossible. Any race with a body type that deviates substantially from those already available, especially adding extra limbs or removing existing ones, is extremely unlikely for this reason.
