Well beside that it is faster to level from level 1-15.

Anyone actually like the changes? getting utility and elite and traits at a much later level. And a bunch of things getting locked.

Some die-hard fanboys who’ll kiss Anet’s kitten no matter how much they ruin the game.
The leveling experience is just as fast for me as it was before, it’s just 100x more boring than it was already with the new trait system
So, yeah. I guess nobody.

This is a T-rated MMO, not a point-and-click adventure for 5-year-olds.
That’s how GW2 ends; not with a bang, but a whimper.

Someone said there are people that like it and there are people dislike it.

I really want to see who actually like it.

That being said, leveling is much more rewarding now! and much more boring…

Most people in my guild either like it or don’t feel it really affects them. There’s two people in my guild who don’t like it…that I’ve talked to so far anyway.

I don’t like it but I don’t dislike it either. Its just leveling. Not a fan of the skill changes though.

We should have had all of the locks? An extended tedious tutorial that still majorly comes down to “teach yourself” anyway?
You’re nuts.

I recently started a new character(alt) and decided to go with Engineer because I saw some really exciting gameplay of it.

Thank God I unlocked two skill slots before the patch… I would have to get to level 24 just to have two slots on Engineer which still isn’t ideal to really learning/understanding his mechanics in the first place.

I’m trying really hard to think objectively about this as if I were a new player and I just can’t see these changes actually being good.

It used to be that by the time your half way through level cap, you have already unlocked almost everything you need. The only thing left for the later half of your leveling experience is getting better gears.

aye, I wouldn’t say I like it, but it certainly doesnt make much difference to my game play. Even when leveling alts. Its not really the big deal people seem to be making out to be.

Leveling up is much faster, there are much better tool-tips. I can see how this would be/would have been very helpful for new players.

It’s different…I’m not sure I would have any complaints if I hadn’t seen the previous implementation.

Dyes as a reward is very nice, I would have really enjoyed that starting out.

For me, it makes little difference, so I would say I like it just fine.

It doesn’t affect me so I don’t care. I’m really surprised at the number of people claiming to be impacted by this change. Did everyone choose to create a new character today or something? Not sure why you would do so knowing the changes that were coming. It’s like people are going out of their way to find something to complain about. I just find it funny that all the veterans are getting worked up over a feature that was never designed with them in mind.

a lot of people played this game for the alts, in fact it was probably one of the only things a lot of people who have played for a long time can do.

I do and I still will. I’m thinking of taking a short break first before I do another one, though.

Its restrictive, dumbed down and gated to oblivion. Its terrible, and it has nothing to do with progression.

Are you dense or do you really just have no idea why people wouldn’t find a forced hand holding that restricts them from content that wasn’t even designed for them annoying?

There is really no hope with this level of critical thinking abounding.

I can understand that they want to make levelling up more spread out over all the levels or at least giving you the feeling that it feels more like you keep making progression all the way.

That said. Thinks like holding back the (basic) skills instead of the way it worked before just means the beginning is really dull. (Auto-attacking with only ‘1’ skill is just not really fun) and things like removing the bucket and foot from the hearth quest (if that’s to hard to figure out, breathing is to hearth to figure out) or not being able to start a skill challenge because you are a to low level (and a few more of those changes) I do consider really bad.
