Guild Wars 2: End of Time

The mysterious Elder Gods who created the dragons reawaken after countless millenia and return to devour everything, including the dragons.

Now the remaining dragons must unite with Tyria to fight the Elder Gods in the most totally awesomenest battle of all time… because if they lose, there will be no time, no universe, nothing.

Cue Michael Bay explosion outro.

If that ends up canon someday then it’s way early for that arc lol! That may even have to wait until Guild Wars 3.

I think either Kralkatorrik or Jormag, the other 2 should be kept for later

The “Grind Dragon” as per usual. The “trading post” will be the evil side kick.

I LOVE elder gods and calling it end of time, I can’t believe that never occurred to me O_O

I don’t think they’ll do anything like that until the eds are dead though, but I like the idea of worki with them, maybe we get some smarter ones from another world or across the world? Or the elder gods create a seventh dragon more powerful that all the others together to get rid of the others. Need a story on why they wa t to kill their creations the set in motion before sleeping though – I have some ideas but I’m tired, will get to it later. Anyway the idea is the seventh dragon is a “soul dragon” that kills them and brings them back, but it does t work and we get to work with the reincarnations

If we’re heading toward Kralkatorrik next, I actually hope Palawa Joko ends up being the villain and it’s an Elona expansion. I don’t want to just run down the list of Elder Dragons slowly, and as someone who couldn’t get into GW1 during Prophecies, I really want to see another land.

When Mordremoth attacks, he disrupts some waypoints, causing players some inconvenience, but not that much.

I shudder to think of the economic catastrophe if John Smith the Moneydragon disrupts the Black Lion Trading Post until he is defeated on a global map event.

Or maybe just increase TP tax to 50%.

On the bright side, we’ll probably see trader barons leading the charge against JS in that case :|

it’s going to be kralkatorrik, to much hints to ignore:

1 threarne dialog
2 glint’s egg
3 revamped shatterer

i wouldn’t mind to leave the dragon storyline aside, but the dragons are so in the lore of gw that we cannot pretend they don’t exist… so it must be it.

about palawa jogo i wouldn’t mind if he wasn’t a villain but a victim asking for help because his land are overrun by dragon minions instead of his own and than turned into a villain after (you can’t left palawa jogo unchecked)

just my 2 cents here

The pact managed to kill one of the greatest dragons, the dragon of Death, Zhaitan. Not long after that, they attacked an even more powerful dragon, Mordremoth, and though they faced obliteration they managed to win. So we already have 2 of the elder dragons slain and their killers are crippled (lost almost all the fleet). Why would the other Elder dragons just wait to be attacked?
I mean, if they are not total morons, why wouldn’t they make a short alliance and utterly destroy their would-be killers in a few days if not even hours
? OK, let us accept that dragons won’t make an alliance because “reasons”. Let’s just speak for Karkal… Krlkaa… the Shatterer’s boss. I mean, HELLO, they are already pwning your lieutenant, probably coming for you afterwards, they are in the brink of annihilation from Mordremoth and you just sit there waiting for them to attack???? Are you the dragon of kitten ness or something?
In all seriousness (lol), Jormag should just make a phone call to the others, even skype them
J : “yo dudes, those lesser races already wtfpwnt two of our kind, I mean we are only 4 left, shouldn’t we, I don’t know, unite and froze them to death or whatever in a single attack?”
K : “Frosty here may have a point, my lieutenant is farmed daily for achievements kitten , I say let’s go for a beer, eat their sheep and blight the hell out of them, in whatever order you want”
P : “I am in for the kill, Jormag just stay away from me during the attack, sorry dude you give me the chills”
J : “Can do that. What do you say Bubbles?”
B : “dooooboooolooooooooo”
J : “I’ll take that as a yes. LETS GO AND DEMOLISH THEM”

Random guard at Claw island : “omg dragons, lets light theAARRRRGHHHHHHH” (dies in moments)
Random guard at Lion’s Arch : “where did the sun go, kitten that tv-tempest who said today will be a sunny day. Wait, the clouds are movAAAAAAAAAAAARGGG” (yeah)
Pact leaders : “OMG we have reports the dragons are attacking, raise the fleet!!! oh wait…”
Commander : “… at last”

you get the point (I am bored) :P

I think we’re going to see someone new at first, and they’ll eventually drag us towards a dragon. As for which dragon is next? I think it’s going to be Jormag. There’s simply less backstory and lore for the devs to deal with if they go that route.

If you deal with Primordus, you need to address the fate of the dwarves and why the asura don’t just return to the underground once it’s dead.

Bubbles? Defeating Bubbles brings Cantha back into play, as there would be no more barrier to keep us from sailing there.

Kralk? Elona and its ruler would have to be addressed.

With Jormag, we’ve got the norn and kodan, who have moved south out of the dragon’s area. Any old cultures have already been addressed, unless they feel the desire to make a new one. It’s simply the choice that leaves the writers the most room to do their own thing.

Sarcasm, delivered with a
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

Personally I’d like to see them fought in this order: (Bubbles?) Primordus, Jormag and then Kralkatorik.

The bubbles campaign would be an equal threat to all of Tyria, but mostly focus on the ocean/coastal areas and lions arch as the main city under threat. This campaign would enlist the Tengu to help, preferably as a playable race (since they are in the effected area). I know underwater combat has been largely abandoned (and that no one likes it) but Anet is going to have to deal with bubbles at some point in some manner. After this expansion NPC’s from Cantha would begin cropping up in future living world updates and would build story over the next expansions/releases to eventually lead into a Canthan story/expansion at the end of the Elder Dragon saga.

We don’t HAVE to be swimming through the expansion from start to finish, and no one wants that, but bubbles has to be killed in-world. The one possible dodge would be to have bubbles be ‘last’ and actually killed by the Canthan heros as a prelude into a Canthan expansion after the other elder dragons are killed.

I would put Primordus next which would be an Asuran/Dwarf centric story and would take place largely in the depths and would explore current dwarf status, and possibly take us to the Ring of Fire islands (which are now accessible after bubbles is out of the picture). The story would possibly contain a betrayal by the Asura for national gain to the detriment of the other races (echoing the betrayal of the Mursaat in previous cycles).

With the death of Primordus, Jormag begins to extend it’s power, bringing on an ice age, with small differences to zones nearby the shiverpeaks and of course giving us access to the northern shiverpeaks and the Norn homeland areas. The story would be Norn centric and possibly introduce the Kodan as playable, or at least bringing them into the fight in a stronger role.

With Kralkatorik being the last dragon, there can be some nice themes of mistrust and betrayal against the charr: they have sacrificed and fought dragons and, as they are a militant race, they would likely have borne the brunt of the casualties — they are all soldiers afterall. It would be nice to have a fleshed out story where the other races initially do not support the Charr in their fight against kralk, instead looking to rebuild their own cities and leave the Charr to the elder dragon (who is mostly a problem in their lands). The problem with this is that kralk is more in the crystal desert, so perhaps there would have to be a Gold legion tie in to give us the Blood legion homelands area and parts of the crystal desert (perhaps the shamans now worship Kralk as their diety?)

Finally, with the dragons dead, we’d move into Cantha, possibly with a new playable race such as the Naga who are indiginous to Cantha and deal with the new Canthan empire, then after that move into Elona to take Palawa Joko out.

And there’s the next…. 12-15 years of guildwars content

An Evil Pact, where the racial enemies team up because the bad guys “deserve a happy ending”. Your race will weigh on how your story goes. If you are silvari you do find Mayllak and his tree. His tree is more like the nightmare court (like mordermoth intended ) because it didn’t have the influence of ventari. I don’t know enough about the other races to make a stab at what theirs would be. Could lead up to fighting a dragon in the end.

Mordy was a playable-race themed dragon, had base of his minions from beta times, had it worldboss and got 2nd one (Great Jungle Wurm and TTwurm), there was no exreme combat mechanics changes to fight him – only added a MOVEMENT mechanic which is meaningless to combat (we cant glide and swing swords)

So all signs in the heavens point to one of those:

Kral – base of his armies are ready – those branded, we do have overhaul of Shatner, its a playable-race themed dragon, and we don’t need to rewamp whole combat mechanics to fight him.

Primor – base and those destroyers, we do have Megadestroyer (which is firebased worldboss) its a playable-race themed dragon and we don’t need to rewamp whole combat mechanics to fight him.

Jormag – base are those corrupted, we do have Claw, its a playable-race themed dragon and we don’t need to rewamp whole combat mechanics to fight him.

As for this sick idea of some underwater BS – game was moving away from underwater content for a long time now (show me new underwater things added in the last 2 years – i dare you), we don’t have any base for this one in game, it’s not playable race themed dragon, it would require an extreme underwater combat rewamp that would waste both time and resources of ANet to create more easy to implement dragons that don’t require total overhaul of combat also fighting underwater – UNDERWATER – dragon on land, islands or coast would be incredibly stupid because dragons are lazy and you need to go to them to fight them on their turf otherwise it would be constant flood of his minions and fighting him on islands or shoreline… his breathing creates waves so my bets are that his fart would create tsunami that would wipeout everything there.

ANet should focus on those that have base and are connected to playable races and make them a real epic fights (not like Mordy) instead of wasting time and resorces on some sick hallucinations.

If it would not be dragons i would love to kick godly butts both those “divine six” and those evil ones alike.

There will be two villains. You will need to split into teams of three to defeat them within a time frame. Team one and team two will need to get on a platform and team three will hold back waves of incoming mobs.

The platforms will initially be reached by a simple jumping puzzle. Later this will be nerfed into a ramp.

The incoming waves for team 3 will be large mixed groups. This will later get nerfed into small mixed groups, then small groups of the same mob and finally the mobs will just run into your spears. Following further complaints the mobs will now rebound themselves off your hammer.

Later the time requirement will be removed and it will be enough to just complete the event. A bunch of people go out of their way to do it as slowly as possible and set up an anti-speed run website to record the slowest people to finish any events.

The journey to the final event will be epic. Then hard. Then soloable. Someone will still complain. Shortly before the game closes a teleporter will appear at the start of the map, you will teleport to a jump pad, the jump pad will automatically autoclick your 1 button and both event bosses will die. There will still be complaints that the graphics as you whizz forward aren’t very good and that with a 300 ping you can’t see the end fight until after it has happened.

There will be a terrain hole that never gets fixed. This will lead to mesmers charging tips to get you out. That will lead to a split in the mesmer group with half opposed to any tips and who portal people out for free and a second group that will only do it for money. Neither side will ever agree to disagree about the right way to do this. There will be portal on portal action and portal trolling.

A late glitch will reveal that if everyone puts their mentor apple on, the server can’t cope and doesn’t send any team three mobs, allowing the event to be done by just two teams. There will still be a bunch of afk’ers who stand in the team 3 spot every time with pets out and traps set to auto.

Even tho the event can be done in exotics, people will insist you need ascended or higher. The ever rising cost of mats makes the top 1% of people ever richer and they become so wealthy they eventually end up buying anet using Zomorros as a middle man. Or genie. Or whatever.

Between now and then the people actually running the event have a really good time but the forums obviously erupt in outrage cos why would you let the truth ruin a really good lie.

Blame Abaddon, he loves your tears.

If there’s a total overhaul of underwater combat (at least in any new zones) why not greatly simplify it towards a first person shooter mode but still allow for mouse movement (doesn’t really interfere with aiming) like action camera does? As for the dragon fight why not force him above water temporarily by setting bombs then repeating the process again but under stricter conditions (less time to do the puzzles while people have skills on cooldown and lowered health from fighting the dragon)? Alternatively people can just use FPS mode against him where he’d be moving a lot and players would have to keep headshotting him. Since he’d be faster than players and hit them hard they have to make educated guesses where he’s going to be instead of simply trying to follow him. Yes, I think an underwater temple maze would be ideal for this scenario while an underwater vent would be ideal for the first.

In underwater mode people will have three abilities on their underwater weapons but no CC as creeps won’t have them either. That’s one way I can think of for rebalancing underwater combat, instead of an MMO underwater we can play a FPS underwater complete with headshot mechanics.

Alternatively, any meta or story event where you can’t get around needing to be underwater could be like a railed shooter where you’re always moving forward, can move your mouse to move your sub, and use mouse buttons for attacks.

Why not a full expansion and the first “true” expansion this next time? Where Jormag is the main villain. The expansion would give us the Kodans a race of large bears (not just Polar bears). The lore would be expanded to include origin stories of the Norn and Kodan peoples. One of the key game mechanic changes would be for racial skills to become true elite skills available only in PvE and normal dungeons(not fractals or raids). Another would be a new specialisation set available only in aquatic and polar/alpine regions only. I see additional specialisations to be limited to groups of environments and not available in all. These and other additions would make a better expansion for GW2.

A fair opinion, but in this case it would be pretty kittenty to not focus on the dragons. The entire plot of the game is about defeating the dragons that are waking up. I would be pretty upset if Anet was like “you know what? forget the remaining dragons, here come the space demons instead”.

If it’s Jormag then can we get introduced to a new race (not necessarily playable) called the Pengu? They’re essentially Tengu but with penguin features (beak, black and white, smooth, and has flippers) and they can even be introduced in the Woodland Cascades. Remember how Silverwaste was an entry point into HoT and came out before the expansion was released? Well what if Woodland Cascade will be the snow expansion’s Silverwaste? Woodland Cascades could use Northern California and Oregon as an inspiration for animal and plant life. There would be big redwood trees, centaur-icebrood alliances, stuff like vinewrath but with different bosses and mechanics but stick to the same basic lane idea that isn’t on a strict schedule, etc. Basically Silverwaste with some mechanical differences and mob types and vertical with villages like Itzel villages but with squirrel people.

Alternatively, the icebrood could be attacking the centaurs and they need our help, but we don’t trust them due to their raids against humans. Other races like Charr and Asura are willing to give them a chance. There are just so many possibilities just leading up to the Far Shiverpeaks. Then while there snowboarding minigames! ^_^

And how could John Smith even be a credible villain? His hero cred is too solid, it was he who made silk and leather of all tiers worth selling on the tradingpost! It was he who reduced droprates meaning less of a market glut!
