Combinations like ‘rabid’ and ‘shaman’ and ‘soldier’ seem to be attainable only in gear form, from dungeons and karma. But what about trinkets?

I don’t see any advantage in this. Having a full set of ‘soldiers’ gear isn’t more overpowered than having a full set of ‘knights’, so why is one impossible to attain, while another is dirt cheap on the AH?

Seems arbitrary and restrictive honestly.

Having more build options would help the game I believe.

Then there’s the Exotic Karma amour from the vendors in Orr. Rubbish stats for any build.

because some stats are prefered over others.
Its like asking why is Superior Rune of Vitality 50plats on the rune trader in guildwars.
Because everyone wants it, and somehow as a whole came to the conclusion that those are the best stat mods to use.

But its not an advantage at all.

Having power, vit, toughness gear be equally accessible as power crit% toughness, would not create an imbalance.

Its just an arbitrary distinction.

I really, really want Rabid equipment (and other non-craftable, non-droppable stat combinations) to be more accessible. As it is all craftable and droppable stat combinations use Power, and as a condition damage build I don’t want Power. The only way to get Rabid equipment is from Orr karma vendors and dungeons, but that’s only for armour and weapons: I still haven’t found a way to get (Exotic) Rabid jewelery yet.

End this discrimination against condition damage builds!

No?

Lets look at superior rune of the eagle for example shall we, the last stat reads

5% more damage to foe under 50% hp.
Since we wear 6 armour pieces thats…

6 × 5 = 35 percent.

Now lets say I’m doing a base damage of 1000

35% percent of 1000 is 350
So after target hp drops to 50%
my base damage is now 1350

Now lets compare out of 10 attacks
Base damage without the rune
1000 × 10 = 10,000
Base damage with the rune
1350 × 10 = 13,500
Damage difference 3,500.

Mind you the average player at level 80 has about 14k – 20khp.

Grump, because the game is meant for the look not the stat. The best decision ever made.

Runes do not work that way.
That 5% is just 5%. Its not multiplied by number of gear with that rune equipped.

First of all, you have no clue about how runes work.
Secondly, what does that have to do with arbitrarily limiting soldiers/shamans/rabid and other stat combinations? Eagle anyone can get.

What does being able to get 100% eagle, have to do with it being impossible to get 100% rabid?

Whats your point?

6 × 5 =30 btw, on top of the other comments.

Now, I agree on the basic idea of this post. I particularly want the PvP version of Shaman gear in pve myself (“1x” toughness, “.5x” condition damage, “.5x” healing power), or even other, currently non-existent combinations of stats to show up on gear. All options should ideally be available through crafting, drops, and karma.

I agree.

If gear does the basic framework of:

1.5 of one stat
1 of one stat
1 of one stat

Then, it can’t be overpowered or better than anything else.

I don’t see how it is logical to exclude certain combinations from PvE for no reason, since balance can’t be the answer.

I’d love to read and official response either “rabid trinkets will never exist” or “we’re working on in” to see if i’m going to use my condition necro or i leave it in oblivion, 5 parts of equipment with stats that i dont need completly ruin a build

Don’t talk to me about toughness and vitality, damage avoidance is all in this game

When this topic came up in pvp (where there aren’t even any stats on armor, so you can’t mix/match) the response was that there’s some stats combinations that would be too good to pass-up. They want you to make compromises and adjustments.
