There was a few people who didn’t really appreciate the lack of information regarding the halloween event, so maybe they decided to reveal more up front this time and see how that goes.

This was done precisely because of the Halloween event. I think many people were frustrated at not knowing when to log on, what would be interesting to them, and what to expect. It gives people time to actually plan a schedule so they can be online with friends to enjoy the events.
