Not a QQ or a flame, a straight up question. Why do we not yet have even a couple of slots for consumable items?
Going to start embarking on dungeons soon, and the QoL improvements and sheer convenience this could add is massive. I’ve seen these threads going back to launch, so is there any particular reason it hasn’t been implemented yet?
PS to the devs – even in the gemstore I’d be happy to fork out for this!
edit: 68 views and no responses – anyone else got any info on why we don’t have this in game?

Honestly, I don’t see the need of a cons hotbar, It’s not that annoying to open your inventory, double click the cons e close it again.
That being said, I’d be glad if they add it at some point though…
Given the number of consumables available in this game and their role, it is a necessity to have some way of managing them, be it a hotbar or hotkeys, or, even better, both.
That would be nice but hotkey stuff doesn’t really tie into Scarlet, so we can’t have that.
We can have only 2 consumable at once…why do you need a hotbar for that?
and with the long duration …. is not like you have to activate them every 2 min…
‘’Why there is no UI customisation’’ , fixed ???
It’s not only about, that it’s easier to click on them.
It happens really often for me and my guildmates, that we just forget to use food cause it’s somewhere in the inventory and you just don’t notice it.
With a sidebar for consumables, you will always see your buff-food and got that reminder to use it.
Another thing is embers, or harpy feather. It just kittens up to have open your inv at small size, imo.
And like Frenk the Vile said, why isn’t it like in GW1, where you could change EVERYTHING.

Or Ash Legion Spy Kit. Hotbar is needed.
I’m still puzzled why they limited us to one massive screen hog of a hot bar anyway. It has to be for a future console release, because there is no other reason I can think of for crippling our ability to customize the UI.
I support a consumable hot bar
Why exactly do you need it?
The majority of these consumables do not need to be spammed and through normal gameplay, would not require a hotbar to be available.

Because more customization is always a good thing, and I wouldn’t have to search through my bags every time I need to eat or find my salvage kit. While they are at it that can give a UI scale slider, additional chat window options, a resizeable/movable buff bar and at least percentages on everyone’s health bar, but even then I would prefer to the actual HP on health bars.
There is a whole lot that needs to be done to the UI that has been neglected really, which makes me think they want to keep it simple for a next gen console port in the future.
mmm would be nice to have like 2 slots for consumables. You can drag any 2 consumables into the slots (food, fire ele powder…)

Depending on the situation it can be awkward to try and access your consumables in the inventory, it would also serve as a reminder to check if you need to refresh your food (instead of your guild/raid leader screaming “check food and oils people!” every thirty minutes) and finally because it would just be a nice thing to have.
