Hello, I’m hoping to get one of my concerns addressed about the scavenger hunt which was hinted at for obtaining precursors. I understand that Linsey said it would take a while, and that’s ok, I realize people at Anet are working hard to make this the best game possible.

My question involves whether scavenger hunts will also require a lot of money (or materials, which could cost money) to obtain the precursor. My main reason for wanting to know this is because right now, I’m saving up a lot of money to buy The Legend. while I’m still a long way from getting it, I do have a lot of money in the bank, which I could put towards other things (like gearing out my alternate level 80 character). But I’m kind of stuck in limbo, because I don’t know if I’m going to need money for this scavenger hunt, or how much money, or…well, anything.

I know you can’t give us a full description of what you’re planning, and that’s fine, but even a vague response like, “you might need a little bit of gold,” or “you’ll definitely need a lot of gold for this” would be helpful. right now I’m stuck in limbo, not knowing whether I can spend my gold on other things I want, or whether I need to keep saving, or what. I don’t want to save for no reason if the scavenger hunt doesn’t require it, but I also don’t want to blow it all and then find out I need 50 or 100 gold for a bunch of materials or the equivalent of Icy Runestones.

any response, no matter how cryptic or vague, would be really helpful in letting players know what to prepare for in the future. thanks.

Probably wont get any information until they are positive about the final system, people tend to over react on these forums, god forbid they say you might need some of a specific item and it turns out you don’t. Also any hints about requirements will leads to a price increase on such items. See the ascended/ecto correlation.

as I’ve told many people wondering it, the last time anet put out a scavenger hunt for a top tier item it was the black moa chick. while it wasn’t terrible if you had a bit of time and marginal completion, it still took quite an effort, pretty good exploration over most of the 4 campaigns. a few obscure items, a small amount of money and a couple materials, aswell as progress in the sorrow’s furnace elite mission to hatch the chick. so while I wouldn’t expect it to be easy, I expect it to be well thought out and somewhat adventurous. or at least that’s what i’m hoping for :P

Nexon didn’t own 15% of NcSoft back then.. It won’t be so easy now, or cheap.
