so just want to know why should i spend 100 gold (whitch i dont have from 1st day)
for bein a commander that just give me an icon on the map and give me squad chat that no 1 use it !!

how about improve the the commander thing like if some 1 join ur squad u can see him on the map , so the cammander see where hes soldiers goes ! , also its a good idea cuz if there is 2 or more commander each commander can see who fallow him and who not , another idea , since hes the commander he should be stronger then other people , lets say give 100+ to all stats , still ,we gonna spend 100 gold for this arent we ?

It’s not about the features it’s about showing your dedication. When someone lays down 100g to bear a commander flag, they are hopefully doing so because they are dedicated to kicking kitten and taking names in WvW and mastering the art of war.

Imagine the chaos if commander was something easily attained by everyone or was desirable for some sort’ve buff so every man and his dog wants to be a commander

I have seen the chaos on Gunnar’s Hold when no Commander is in sight, people are running around like headless chickens doing their own business (Not that it’s wrong.)

As fast as a Commander shows up, people start gathering around this said Commander, and god we really get organized in an instant and got a huge well going army, and people listens to this Commander.

Even though I haven’t done much WvWvW, and don’t know much about it yet, I want to try to achieve this Commander title to help people out.

Hold up! I am fluent in this dialect.

Translation:

Pardon me; I would like some reasons as to why I should spend 100 gold pieces (Something which is hard to obtain), for a feature that gives me an icon above my head and a squad channel which is scarcely used.

I propose we improve Commander by letting him see his squad mates on the map so he can keep track of their movement. This would go a long way to settle disputes between multiple Commanders by seeing who has the larger force. My last idea proposes that Commanders should have a 100 point bonus to all of his/her stats.

Hence, we are still going to purchase Commander for 100 gold.

Sounds like a pay win attitude . Its the wrong game for that GW is about fairness not I have more money so I should be the strongest. There other games out for that type of play .Its the main reason I chose to play GW2 to get away from that type of play.

This should be in the pvp subforum.

That said, like a few others alluded to, GW is all about fairness and this particular game is far from that. The “Commander” icon and its purpose is a joke and poorly implimented. Out of the 200 or so “commanders” we have on our server only one has half a brain to direct traffic from pvp point to pvp point and that half a brain does a decent job most of the time. But then with gold being the ruling factor in Wv3 and zerging being the top mechanic, “commanders” really have nothing to do but search for bodies and beg people to help defend or attack. No tactics, no attrition, no supply eceonomy, no reason for “commanders”.

“commanders” received their icon in a few ways, their guild gave the smooth talker the money, or they purchased the gold from farmers or the gemstore. Hence the term gemstore commanders you see typed in chat alot. You see on the map all the time in pve as these clowns run around with the icon turned on. I see tons of commanders in pve, yet i only see two in Wv3 regularly.

Zero skill in Wv3, the most gold and bodies wins. That and the exploits that still happen. There is no point to having or using a “commander” until the Wv3 mechanic changes and gives them a reason for being there.

Until then, it is simply treb everything from insane distance and “Follow the zerg”. Now thats funny.

There is no worse feeling than that during an argument, you realize you are wrong.
