Evon Gnashblade’s Coin Extravaganza (couldnt fit it all in the title)

As the title says, this festival will be provided by Evon Gnashblade and the Black Lion Trading Company. The intent will be to gather up special coins (Gnashcoins?) that will have Evon’s picture on them (because, you know, its his event). They will be earned from all areas of gameplay.

There will be 8 types of Gnashcoins: Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Mithril, Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald. To get the other 7 types of coins, you have to upgrade your copper Gnashcoins via a merchant. This merchant will have various rewards for the coin levels with stuff like food and recipes lower in the list. To get the next Gnashcoin, it would take 5 coins of the previous tier and some copper for the first 4 promotions (5 copper -> 1 silver, 5 silver -> 1 gold, 5 gold -> 1 platinum, 5 platinum to 1 mithril). The last 3 Gnashcoins will take 2 mithril coins and some copper/silver. I’ll cover possible rewards further down in the post.

There can also be some merchants that will take some of your excess materials (including ascended materials, luck, and maybe even ascended rings) and give you coins in return (similar to the Festival of the Four Winds).

Ways to get Gnashcoins:

• Completing an event could award 1 copper Gnashcoin (possibly tiered for WvW events, which have tiered rewards as well)
• Monsters can drop copper Gnashcoins
• Winning a match in PvP can award some copper Gnashcoins
• PvP reward track can have some in there as well.
• Players in WvW should have a higher chance to drop one than monsters.
• Gnashblade Acheivements (dailies and festival meta achievements)

Rewards purchased with Gnashcoins:

• Copper Gnashcoins would have common foods (the usual buffs from food) for sale and Silver Gnashcoins
• Silver Gnashcoins would have recipes for foods and Gold Gnashcoins
• Gold Gnashcoins would have rare food items with boon duration and condi duration as well as recipes for them (cost more), Platinum Gnashcoins, and Fine Material Bags.
• Platinum Gnashcoins would have Unidentified dyes (likely more than 1 per coin), some minis (because lots of people like minis!), and Mithril Gnashcoins
• Mithril Gnashcoins would have a set of weapon skins and the other 3 Gnashcoins
• Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Gnashcoins would have a unique ascended backpiece recipe which would cost 1 of the corresponding coin and some gold and an account bound mini that can represent each coin (whether its a skritt holding a coin of the correct color or a red/blue/green squirrel or something else).

Achievements:

• Gnashcoin Collection- because there are 8 coins this can work
• Weaponskin Collection (Mithril Gnashcoin reward)
• Festival Achievements (all festivals have them-not sure what they could be however)
• Festival Dailies

I’m not so good with minigames, but festivals always have some kind of mini game so this one should be no exception (taking ideas on this one )

Thoughts?

This is super random. But really, where do my support Evon Gnashblade tokens come in, I still have a partial stack and I’m not willing to get rid of them without getting something out of it.

i dont think those would get used, but they were my inspiration for the Gnashcoins and i can see them looking similar to each other.

was a bit disappointed I didn’t see any patch today and this made me smile. Nice creative input. If you were to add Living World what would suggest?

I was aiming for a yearly event, but it could tie into LW easily. Evon would blame Kiel and the Captain’s Council for how long it is taking to repair LA (over a year at this point) and would use that to promote his event (and himself for a possible future election). When LA is repaired, this would be a Black Lion Trading Company promotion event.
