The weird graphics in SAB give me motion sickness so I just ignore it. The only bad thing is that it’s slightly harder to find groups for other content during SAB event, especially the first days. But the event only lasts for a few weeks so I don’t really care.

I don’t see how it’s out of place at all, the asurans see magic the way we see technology in the real world, not as some gift of the gods or deep arcana meant for study in dark corners, but as a force of nature for use in whatever way it can be used; be it war or exploration or just making daily life a little easier or more enjoyable.

Cracks knuckles

SAB is the single greatest piece of content that has ever been made for an MMO.

As someone who grew up playing NES games, I remember quivering with anticipation for the launch of the SNES. My brothers and I all saved our allowances and pooled together to buy one.

Perhaps most of the joy that I get from SAB comes from the absolutely faithful recreation of the “feeling” of playing many of the great games from that era of gaming. Everything from the incredibly bright and cheerful opening level, to traveling to the dark and scary woods. Even the lack of control on the ice on the mountain in world 2 hits right in the nostalgia.

Anet did a great job incorporating the attitude of the Asura into SAB as well. Everything from easy being labeled “Infantile” and treating you like they have to hold your hand every step of the way to keep you from hurting yourself to hard being called “Tribulation” and working like the brutally punishing games that are disgustingly cheap and hit below the belt as often as possible. That just seems to fit with my understanding of Asuran culture.

As for not liking the sounds the minis make, I feel you there. While the SAB ones are welcome in my book I can’t stand the talking backpack.

Keep in mind this is all just my opinion and your mileage may vary. /shrug

Why do those that know the least know it the loudest?

I get it was an april joke back then, but it has no place in this world whatsoever, and only creates a lot of noise in the rest of the world.. isn’t it time we get rid of it?

I really think you should ask Mr. Hat!

OP must’ve been hibernating for the 2 years we didn’t have any SAB and people kept asking for it to return. Plenty of people kept calling for the return of SAB, and finally ANet obliged. I’m happy because I enjoyed it from the moment they introduced it as the (in my opinion) ONLY enjoyable April Fools gag of GW2 since it’s creation (to hell with those annoying bobbleheads and that bland aviator stuff). It’s popular. I despise Hip Hop but that’s popular too, yet I’m not calling to remove a lot of people’s favorite kind of “music” from the face of the Earth (I only dream about such a world).
