1st gen legendary in mystic forge
We are still going to be able to mystic forge the old legendarys if we have the materials after launch of HOT or are we going to have to use the tracker system only going forward?
You would only get PRECURSOR from masteries.
You still need all the other mats you used to craft Legendaries, like Gift of Fortune.
There’s no other way to get the 1st gen legendary other than using Mystic Forge or buy them on TP.

Bolded at this moment yes but when hot hits in less then a week you will be able to get all precursors old and new once each account from mastery line.
So then you will be able to get all of old precursors to form into legendarys that way aswell.
To answer the OP after getting the old precursor any way you like crafting mystic forge or trading post.
You will have to combine it the same way as before in the mystic forge, to get said legendary.

Any precursor thats in the game now you will be able to get from mystic forge, drop as well as mastery line.
The new ones only from mastery line.
