What i am curious is what will they offer us till when it gets released (not the demo). LS kinda ended…..what will there be? WvW seasons?

We’re potentially looking at a couple of months here, so they kinda need to give us something to do.

And now starts weeks of very slow rollout of information, if information gets released at all during a given week, all the way until release.

If you really want my opinion, I don’t think we are going to see a release until August. It coincides with the original GW2 release date and will be very close to the beginning of a fiscal quarter for them. I hope it will be sooner, but I’m not going to get excited until they announce something definitively.

6 weeks to demo. Then a beta, per the FAQ, so at best 2-3 months. In that time, I guess we will have no content? After we just had a 2 month break.

I’m kinda wondering if they might release it in August to go along with the third anniversary. That would be the best anniversary present ever!

The guy was crystal clear about having a demo available to play at pax east. How are people twisting that in their minds to “release date in 6 weeks!”?

Guys, you’re free to speculate all you want about release dates. What I ask you to do is not post a speculative release date as a fact. Don’t put “XX release date” without some sort of indication that it’s your opinion, guess, best estimate based on ABC reasons, or whatever.

But it’s not a rumor, that came from NcSoft’s financial projections.

I think that’s what they (ANet) would like to be able to do, but the practicalities of the real world might not allow for that.

kitten shame. I decided to forgo PAX East this year as I’d be needing to take time off and didn’t expect anything from ANet/GW2 other than just a marketing booth. Would have been nice to try the beta :P

But it’s not a rumor, that came from NcSoft’s financial projections.

No it didn’t. It came from an analyst (KDB Daewoo Securities) that have been predicting an expansion for years and every time the analyst declared and expansion was coming out in quarter X of year Y they showed increase income for that quarter. Until their next NCSOFT update where they walk it back.

I’m guessing the release will be on the 3 year anniversary at the end of August. It gives them plenty of time to dribble out details here and there.

Well, somebody knows – we had some earning projections charts for NCSoft make the rounds on the Wildstar boards a few weeks back and GW2 was expected to make an (at the time) inexplicable giant leap in income 3rd quarter.

Proof? No. Suggestive? Very.

Probably because a huge chunk of the player-base lives in countries where the summer holidays fall into the third quarter. Lots of school kids with lots of time and some coin on their hand: Gem-Store-Cashing!
