I just wanted to put out here that I just updated to Windows 10 prior to playing the beta story instance, and only in the new area am I experiencing my laptop mistakenly thinking that the ac power is unplugged. The frame rate drops, the sound gets cracking noises in it, and the display gets dimmer.

When I switch to the desktop, I see the ac power notification on my screen pop up that it is plugged in again. I have an asus g750 gaming laptop, in the normal areas of the game it works fine, so not sure if this is an issue for windows 10, or if I had played prior to updating, would I have experienced the same issue on windows 8.1…then making it a potential NVidia gpu load issue after driver update (for windows 10 support).

I kept losing sound until I set GW2 to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Seems to have cured my issues so may help you too.
