So about a month ago i created a topic talking about the Hot Legendaries themed with LS3 episodes.
Ember Bay – Lava – Eureka
Bitterfrost Frontier – Icy – Shooshadoo
Let us say we only have 3~4 episodes left? I’m sure they NEED to release all remaining legs in those remaining episodes right?
Is this why we don’t have Episode 4 yet?(Ep1~3 had a consistent 2months range of release afaik)

We’re going to Isles of Janthir right?
Since we may get more than one Legendary per episode, what are your opinions about it.

It seems we will get legendaries of the same theme?
Like Isles-of-janthir-themed Legendaries? I think its a little bit disappointing considering 1st Gen legendaries are unique to each other.
It’s like we are getting a “new-set-of-BL-skins-feeling” XD . Legendaries with the same theme according to ls3 episodes.

The skins for those legendaries are likely already mostly done, and basic designs were likely done long before LS got finalized. What had been stopping them from releasing those legendaries was the collections.
(now they are spreading them out most likely to extend the content and to minimize the impact on the market)

Don’t count on those thematic ties in the future. The existing 2 ones fitting to your idea is likely either a result of accident, or Anet just picking the most fitting ones from already existing list. Also, if you’re right, where is the Bloodstone Fen legendary? What part of LS does the shortbow fit? (remember, that, according to previous AMAs, mace and shortbow were almost tied for completion shortly before Mo announced cancelling the work on collection-style legendaries, and they didn’t know then which one would be first)

So, you can stop worrying. Your assumptions are almost certainly wrong.
(also, we do not know where we will be going next. Might be isles of janthir, but so far haven’t seen anything that pointed in that direction)

No one at ANet said that we would have the second set of legendary weapons finished by the time LWS3 finished, and I wouldn’t at all bank on it. The only things I’m expecting from HoT legendaries is for all of them to be released before the next expac, regardless of whether that expac brings new legendary weapons or not.

I think its safe to assume we will get 1 legendary with each new LWS3 episode. I don’t know how much work goes into making one, but I imagine that 2-3 months should be plenty considering they don’t have to make a collection for it anymore.

There is no requirement that they need to release the remaining legendaries in a specific time frame. They will likely continue to be released in intervals, even if it continues into the next expansion, which likely won’t have its own.

Episode 4 would have been released on January 24th if nothing else was going on. The goal is not to give you free content, but to keep you active, so they’re not going to waste their resources by overlapping releases. That’s why the current events have been so spread out, because they’re only used to fill the gaps. Episode 4 will likely be released on February 14th following their normal 2 week cycle, or it could be January 31st at the earliest, which is only a 1-3 week delay.

Seasons were originally meant to take place in pseudo real time over the course of a year. If that’s still the case, season 3 could be ending very soon, like within the next 1-3 episodes.

Episode 4 will either be going to the Crystal Desert, or that’s the target for the next expansion.

The only limitation that AN has is to finish the Gen 2 Legendaries within the span of this expansion, since they are a core feature of Heart of Thorns. While they do NOT necessarily have to be tied to living story 3 chapters, my concern is with how many are left, with how long the delay is in between weapons and the time left in this expansion before the next one. There are roughly 11 weapons left to release and with lets say a 2 month gap in between, it will take almost 2 years to finish if not more.

They can still include them when the next expac arrives if they’re not finished by then, but they would have to be free for those with HoT who aren’t getting the expac

While they COULD include them later, I feel it would reflect very poorly on them as a company. There are already plenty of forum posts about ‘unfinished or unimplemented content’ so I wont go into details about that. I bought HoT for the legendary weapons and precursor crafting. So far the precursor crafting has been a thorn in my side (sorry eir), but I would expect one expansion to be complete before starting a new one or I would be very cautious about buying the next one.
