Before we had dungeons with nice rewards and fractals with ascended gear. With HOT they introduced a new content and murdered dungeons, and reduced the loot on fractals.
Does that mean that in the next expension they are going to nerf raids in order to force us to play to their new content?

Thats a long way off to be worrying about now, I think. I would just enjoy the content that you like while it lasts. They have said that they are improving drops in fractals though. On the other hand, anything is possible in the future.

Any further expansions will probably include a few more raids so why would they nerf them? If raids are now their go to “hard stuff” then it won’t matter where they are the raids will still be raids.

And the dungeons have always sucked in this game. That’s my superimportantopinionaboveeveroneelsesopinion. Even if they awarded 10g a run I still wouldn’t have done them.

I doubt theyll nerf raid content unless no one is clearing them at all. Honestly I don’t really think I want Anet to seriously nerf anything as it’s about time some truly challenging content was released so all I’d ever think is appropriate is adding 1 minute to the enrage timers for a little more wiggle room.

Honestly, what I’d like to see are some new dungeons with difficulty similar to the raids so that players could learn mechanics in a friendlier and better supported environment

They already introduced a “nerf” for the Raids.
If you start the Raid you get a buff (don’t remember the name, somthing like call to the mist), you get this buff only for the newest Raid wing and it gives you a 100% increase of gold and experience for every defeated Boss. So at the time you get 4 gold, with the release of the next wing you will only get 2.

Doubt it, the raid is definitely not to hard.

Raids aren’t really intended to be good for the money. You do them mostly for the skins, just like dungeons.

Read up on the upcoming december buffs to fractals. If you’re running instances for money, fractals is where they want you to be (and they expect you to get the masteries if you’re going to be running them this way) since that’s the instance area they are supporting going forward in terms of PUGs and lots of repeat runs.

Dungeons, like raids, are there for skins now.

They said you get a buff for doing the most recent raid content (4 gold instead of 2, maybe some other things) so that says to me that they may eventually nerf the older raids, but I wouldn’t expect it to be on the same schedule as the rate they add new ones.

Heart of Thorns already has nothing to do for people that just want to have fun. Can I imagine a future where we have 2 years worth of raid releases of similar or possibly increasing difficulty and nothing else for people to do? Yes. But it doesn’t seem very likely.

I noticed I have to now go and do a few more story modes in dungeons to unlock a mastery point – is it a bad time to be trying to do dungeons then since the nerf?

Now, as a mainly wvw player, how exactly do I go about getting a legendary armor set? Oh yeah, play as we tell you…

Nerf raids, un-nerf dungeons. I am not geek enough to commit hours of my adult life at a stretch to kill a mob. HoT from the get-go looked like grind wars 2. It’s now just plain boring w/ raids pulling a lot of geared people out of open world to closed instances. So, what was the point of nerfing dungeons if you wanted to get people doing meta event chains in the open world. Raiding is not for everyone. It makes no sense.

New content + raid = need ascended
Need ascended for raids = need gold

This expansion is slowly bud steadily killing the game for me.
As velmeister already stated – it’s grind wars now.

Even though the navigation on the new maps (except for TD) is kinda fun and I like the Herald and Reaper additions… if I could choose, I’d go back to the place before the expansion hit.

As a pure pugger that did fractals and dungeons 99% of the time and as someone that considers TS an immersion killer (see raids), their changes literally killed the game for me.

The artwork is still stunning, but their gameplay and economy changes are alienating.
