Don’t downscale the damage.
Don’t change, specially don’t change snipers, because they are how every mob should be, they shoot arrows that matter, they dodge, they reposition with stealth and they defend themselves in melee range.
Don’t change anything.
Let them people stop the afk habit.
Let them force to dodge, move around and think.
Let them think what builds they bring.
Let them be forced to help others to succeed.
This is challenging group content that requires you to think.
So many people complain because they cannot slack, and that’s.
This is not by any mean a troll post, i’m serious because i see so many kids renting about content that should hit changes to entire Tyria.
Welcome to content where your actions matter.
I personally think, that GW2 did start a new chapter of quality with HoT!

I like HoT the way it is as well. Difficulties and all I don’t want it to be changed…

Yup, love the new difficulty in the jungle. Running zerk gear and soldier amulet just fine.
And if you want you can still zerg through the jungle with people… (hp train and such)

Good post, I agree.

I agree as well, although an extra half-second or so on their ground-arrow attack time(The time it takes to expand to full length) would be nice do make ddging a little bit easier.
Personally I have trouble when facing groups of 3 snipers+ and several mordrem because I just get nuked down instantly. I know there is a telegraph, and it is a l2p problem, but a little more leeway would be awesome

Would it help if there was perhaps an icon above the head of the shooter so that you could more easily see and react to the actual threat?

Literally, do you need warning “Cliff ahead, get ready your glider!” as well?
Are you guys really such weaklings ?
Suck it up, other ways all i can say, master yourself in tyria, and come back when you’ll have more control on your character. Bohhhh >_>

Apart from the ones with breakbars, I find blind works wonders on these guys. Bring the right tools and they go down easy.
My only quarrel with snipers is that any knockback/stun/root + their charged shot and you are dead for good. Quite often I simply can’t bring enough stun breaks (on top of dodge bar which I need to use) to prevent bad RNG. And bad RNG will happen often given how many snipers are in HoT and how many CC was given to mobs. Snipers are certainly managable and for me they can stay as they are. But among all my deaths in HoT, if one mob type was responsible for biggest chunk, I am sure it was snipers. Their charged shot field ticks more than once per second for a good chunk of your HP. My tanky engineer was fine. My semi-zerker revenant was OK-ish (though HP going down fast). But I can already foresee lots of deaths on my zerker thief (I think 2 seconds of contact with their shot line field = dead, I shall see).
In general however, so far in HoT I can feel that the general concept is “screw you melee”. While in pre-HoT it was something like “why play ranged if melee can kill it faster?”. Once I am done with experimenting, I will probably play only as ranged in new HoT zones. Not sure yet which proffession. Melee still does more damage but a lot of time is wasted running away from all the anti-melee skills given to HoT mobs.

I am a casual player and I wholeheartedly agree with OP. Mordrem snipers and similar mobs make the gameplay much more fun then the usual mindless faceroll. Would hate to see it changed.

its still easier than BW2….so i’m not sure why there are complaints. its at a perfect level.
skilled players can continue to run their glass cannon gear, but have a bit more of a challenge than before, and subpar players (like myself) can gear/trait up a bit more defensively and have the same experience.
the content can be explored solo no matter skill level…so getting from one event chain to the next is not a problem.

Oh hey, it’s fireslym, the guy who hates flippers.
But TBH, I agree with most of what you said, the jungle balance is great, I’m having tons of fun running full zerk, and I know why I die.
The only thing I don’t like is bristlebacks. they WILL murder you, NO. MATTER. WHAT.
The only way I found to survive a fight when they start throwing all the rocks on the earth towards you, and then more, was to run shield an full pvt, and then sue both dodges. That I don’t like and I think it should be changed to be less gimmicky.
Oh, and hero points when people stop doing them are gonna be fun to do.

Open world is still incredibly easy in full zerk. People just refuse to adapt their playstyle. If you have to take an invuln for open world, do it. Jeez, problem solved.

Imagine if this was:
Don’t increase the damage.
Don’t change, specially don’t change snipers, because they are how every mob should be, their arrows are not too difficult to dodge, their stealth is interesting but doesn’t happen too often and their melee knockbacks are telegraphed.
Don’t change anything.
Let them people stop stressing so hard.
Let them force to calm down and enjoy the game for what it is.
Let them have the freedom to play what build they want for the sheer joy of it.
Let them be forced to put in the effort they want to on their own time.
This is casual group content that lets you chill and relax.
So many people complain because they cannot get a thrill from intense combat, and that’s.

I’m not by any means a player with a casual mindset, but I wanted to take a moment to show you how this could look from the other end. Maybe it will help you understand where these people are coming from.

Agreed.I am enjoying it immensely. I am still running the full berserkers sets I ran in central Tyria. For reference, I am a very casual player, logging a few hours per week.
There is just enough challenge in the new mobs to keep me on my toes. Sloppy play results in me downed or dead.
In short, I’ve never felt outright cheated by the mobs. All of my combat deaths have felt justified.
Gliding on the other hand….it’s kind of brutal with even the slightest latency issues.

HoT has its good points, but all the “don’t do any more nerfs” threads I see every single day popping up is just….paranoid weird.
