I’m disappointed. I’ve been saving my ranger class for the tengu. They have a big chunk saved for them which they have big gates that lead into the zone. It’s been sitting there, waiting for them to work on it xD. Since it took so long for them to finally decide on making an xpac I figured they’d have work on it by now. Got to say… I had my expectations high for an expansion. I really was expecting a new race, a new class, and a few new weapon types.

No new race is somewhat disappointing, I agree, but their explanation is reasonable: it simply doesn’t add enough content. Someday when they get the bumps from this game smoothed out we can definitely expect more races. I imagine, too, new races will come when we actually explore new areas, new campaigns rather than just expansions. I imagine this game will have more campaigns, eventually, I hope? :P

MORE COME, YES?

(I’d personally love playing a skritt just for the lolrat factor. And their racial skills would have to be complete crap as well. “Find Rock/Throw Rock” for their epics, etc.)

I read this and it isn’t just a new class, they created a new class and a whole new system that allows them to add weapons and change class mechanics with an option to toggle it back and forth onto the current classes. I think adding a new system like this is a lot better for the game as a whole as it means that we can expect other specializations in the future. It also probably means it won’t take as long to make more as they have a base guide to work with so they can focus on other things.

As it was previously stated repeatedly, a new race does add some new flavor for cosmetic, but it still wouldn’t please everyone because even if a fraction of the players wanted that specific race, the others would be mad it wasn’t the race they wanted and complain more. I do think that races would be nice to add if they became tied to existing races as an allegiance, so they could share the same living story past the first few quests. However, as a whole, I think getting the new class and system to add new specializations was a better use of resources than getting a new race made at this time.

Would have loved if Kodan was playable. But ohh well what can we do.

Well for one thing you can start by accepting the fact that since day one of this game they always claimed that Kodan will remain forever and ever a story race and never a playable one.

An easy one, yes. Less come, yes…less! Here’s their official position on Skritt, it’s not in the Scrippt because they don’t give a Skritt.

Works for me. I don’t see the appeal myself… Anthropomorphic bears stuck up on themselves and worshiping the status quo while calling it “balance”. Their vision of ‘Balance’ is appallingly limited.
