Most of your players don’t bother about forums unless they are having trouble.
I rather play the game during the limited time I have than keep reading forum messages.
I don’t make a blog post or youtube video about GW2, so as many other players, however I play the game and so many others.
You have two choices either make your players happy so they suggest the game to their friends and/or spend money on game and its expansions, or make your blog posters and youtube movie makers happy and rely on their advertising power.
You want my money and I won’t give it to you unless you give me something I want. I’m sure every single player in game wants that. I’m not saying you should do this and don’t do that. I might not like JP or hate adventures but there are other players here who love them. Just listen to majority. you’ll get more gold out of players pocket if they are happier.
And Here is the suggestion:
Make an in game pol and every week, just give one gem, gold or something valuable as reward for completing it. in that poll ask 3 random questions. something like do you like to see more scenery like Orr? do you like this or that event? What score you give to Hero UI? What you want to see as festival? What you like to see more in BLTC or such.
And then let players add one comment about one thing they like to be added, improved, or removed from game.
At the end of week publish results in the forum so everyone can see it. This will help people to come to agreement. They can see what majority of players likes and if it is against their liking they can live with it or find another game to play.
