WARNING!!! SPOILERS!!!

So, after I finished the story a few weeks ago I was really unhappy. But I am not here to complain. Probably a lot have thought of this, so I wanted to see what others thought about this.
Could Mordermoth not actually be dead? What if the story makes us believe that we defeated him? But we did kill his mind, didn’t we? Not exactly, no. Even after defeating him we have to kill Trahearne, because Mordermoth has corrupted him. Why would that be a problem, I mean we killed his mind, so those who were not completely corrupted should be fine. The corruption should not be spreading. I am not sure if he actually says it, but Trahearne could still be feeling Mordermoth’s influence. Maybe Mordermoth has made a little Mordermoth.zip inside Trahearne’s mind. From now on I can see two possibilities: Mordermoth has done this to every corrupted thing and he is indeed the jungle. Or he has done this just to Trahearne, but didn’t we see him get cloned in a cutscene? We could either have millions of shards of Mordermoth’s mind everywhere or we could have a thousand Trahearnes with almost no detectable Mordermoth energy, that could form up together in a little bit less powerful Mordermoth.

In theory that would be very possible. In theory all of his minions should have Mordremoth.zip with them. Even when you are about to kill the Mouth of Mordremoth you can clearly hear him laughing. A few seconds before his death cinematic appears. Not sure if that laugh was a random clip playing or not but I’ve heard it twice in a row just before he died. Which makes me think he is laughing because we think that he actually died yet he knows he didn’t.

Even before you strike down Trahearne Mordremoth doesn’t even ‘beg for mercy’, I know he would never do that regardless but he says something like ‘SUBMIT TO ME, YOU WILL ALL OBEY ME’ or something along those lines. He wouldn’t say that if he saw his death was about to happen.

All of those are valid theories, but I don’t think ANet is gonna do any of those. You can clearly see that they want to be done with Dragons as fast as possible. The sooner we kill them all the better. They are struggling with the whole Elder Dragon thing.

Then I hope we make them kill each other in the next expansion and then finish the last one standing, because I really want to see the story take a better path :/
