Players get their extra slot July 10th
Guess I need to write a ticket as neither me nor my wife have received our slots.
I have not received my veteran slot.
I bought my gw2 at a local store and registered in February 2015 and as I have understanding I am eligible for the slot

Same as janka, I registered my account with a code from Gamestop in February, and purchased HoT in-game 2 days after the option was available. still no character slot.. gonna chalk it up to a delay because i was one of the “third party registered players” and wait a week…. then i’ll fill out a ticket.

same here. I got it from Gamestop in April. No extra slot yet. No big deal, but hope it gets straightened out eventually. This is not a scrolling issue, because it says 5 of 6 in use right at the bottom, and the 6th slot came from prepurchase.

Once you apply a pre-purchase serial code, you’ll be eligible for the slot regardless of where you bought the core game.”
Also don’t forget that you only have like 7 slots that show on the character select screen and then there is a little arrow you click to slide all the character slots over. They won’t all show up. I didn’t notice that at first and when I clicked on the arrow, it pushed my character slots to the left and showed the new empty slot.

You may have forgotten to read the paragraph below the one you quoted:
‘If the serial code you used to register the core game came from a retail vendor (rather than buy.guildwars2.com or in-game) and was applied to your account between January 23, 2015 and June 16, 2015, you’ll also be eligible for a free character slot if you apply a Heart of Thorns pre-purchase serial code before the expansion release.’

I am very confused now. “All accounts that become eligible by July 9 will have their free character slot applied by July 10” Tons of people got there character slots yesterday, as they should have. How is it that you now say the process is still to be set up?

I wonder if they are slow for just those that bought retail. A back seat if you would. Which is not cool if that is the case. But I can see companies doing that sort of thing.

It is entirely possible there was a problem with delivery for accounts in that situation specifically. An update would be appreciated, though.

It was inexpensive at the time. I had just missed the $5 sale via the website when a friend said he wanted to try it, so I got it from GameStop instead.
I have gw2 since first day of game. Just bought HOT standard edition today. Registered it. Log in. Only see beta slot. Scrolled around…no additional slot.

All accounts that become eligible by July 9 will have their free character slot applied by July 10. Eligible accounts that are upgraded with a pre-purchase serial code after July 10 will receive their slots on a weekly basis after that.
I just pre-purchased HoT and logged into the game. I see an extra Beta Character slot but was unable to create one.
Is there a restriction on this?
You can only use the beta slot during a beta event. There is no current active beta event.
