From the title, what exactly is a HoT exclusive Mastery. I’m assuming it’s not gliding, as it can be done in core, but does that mean all the others are HoT exclusives?

Gliding is one of them. All the masteries that aren’t central tyria masteries are exclusive to HoT. Mounts will be exclusive to PoF even though they can be used in central tyria.

Arcadio, thank you for the answer, although that means there probably won’t be any gliding in CD….

They said you can glide there but the maps won’t be designed in a way that requires gliding. The maps will focus on mounts instead just like how the HoT maps focused on gliding.

Again, thanks, as I haven’t finished ley line gliding yet.

Were have they said they can be used in core tyria?
The video they specificly said it should feel exiting to move across the elonan desert in a variety of ways when speaking of mounts.
Dont sound like we will use them in core or hot mate.

They actually did confirm that you can use mounts in Core Tyria maps. Roy Cronacher said as much on his Twitter account;
“I’ve gotten a few questions about this: Mounts will be useable in the open world zones across Tyria, not just Path of Fire maps”
How big is the speed boon for the mounts? Is it stackable with character built speed boons?

The PoF FAQ explains: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010688287?_ga=2.170710179.2096702833.1501764616-1605282297.1457490234
“Owning Heart of Thorns isn’t required to access Path of Fire content. However, some content is exclusive to Heart of Thorns.
Hope that helps!

40% from what I hear and while not confirmed I’d be willing to take a bet on the answer to the second question being “no”.

Oh, you definitely should when you can! It’s fantastic!

So like a built in Speed Boost mushroom? That’s great, it takes the pressure off designing an open-world build around getting access to Swiftness or a 25% movement buff. (That was one of the reasons I was hesitant about Deadeye, the Swiftness from Unhindered Combatant alone is just so useful).
So like a built in Speed Boost mushroom? That’s awful, it takes the opportunity cost off designing any build around exploration vs designing it around combat. Mounts will be mandatory now, and build diversity will become even narrower than before.

Yes becouse meta builds was really needed in open world before right?
Will be just as much build diversity there as it ever were.

Mounts will not affect builds though, as they are not a combat tool… sure the engage skill is there, but again having it does not take anything away from your character build.
