I know alot is going on now. Like the New Kodan Tonic. Its amazing and new feeling to seem like your playing as a new Race and i do hope Kodan do become a race of their own with of course a Personal stories.
But i Noticed that a Brawler/Fighter class could be created as well. What Leads me to this is 2 things in teh game that haves Brawler/Fighter mechanics and abilities.

1. Burrisson The Blue Hero Point challenge located at The Shadowhorns in Wayfarer Foothills. upon accepting his challenge he doesn;t use any weapons against you. Only his Bare fist and Legs

2. The Elite skill Warrior get Rampage. This skill allow for teh User to fight with his Barefist and have a new set of skills that comes with it.
I think in terms of armor classes it would be Heavy armor. Most of the armor i seen in that class seems to fit teh Brawlers/Fighters more. But that is just my opinion XD
I know this might not be enough to get my point across but i do hope Brawler/Fighter happen in In teh world as a playable thing.

If Not some kinda of special class then as a new weapon for for all races and genders can use. I assume “Gauntlets” would be the best weapon for this. Id say possble classes that can use this would be Warriors, Revenants, Guardians, and Engineers.

What do you guys think?

I would be more interested in getting a unique class like the ritualist from guild wars with weapon enchantments and spirits but we would need cantha for that and I guess anet abandoned it from the lore

You could get a type of brawler by adding monk to the game though, which could use fist weapons. But that adds the problem of having to add a new weapon type.

New weapon types are in planning though, more than once announced from A-Net as well.
They just wanted to spread existing weapons further out first.

A brawler with fist weapons would be possible in that regard.

Also, a new class is probably out of the question as they want to expand the System further only with elite-specs, i do hope though they get the balance under control at least with a big rework of it all till or at least with release of the next Expansion.

From the lore I’ve read, I thought I remember seeing it on the wiki, ritualists were burned at the stake after the new emperor unified Cantha. So ritualists went the route of dwarves in terms of scarcity.

“He shall make whole that which was torn asunder.
Restore that which was lost. And all shall be as one.”

Well they could bring back the Ritualist (I hope) after all the Mursaat were all gone as well, then along came Lazarus.

allot of them went outside cantha tho, so they are far more in numbers then dwarfs.
then again, maybe that’s what the tengu are guarding, the last of the old cantha including assassins and ritualsts.

Problem is, the engineer is kind of the ritualist. It just has a different skin. If you add ritualist now, its basically carrying kits and placing turrets, too.

despite what Anet is saying, not at all.
a ritualist enchants your weapon and adds boons/conditions in a big surrounding, they also improve the use of certain effects.
an engineer just places turrets to attack and has kits instead of a weapon swap, miles apart from a ritualist.

NO, We don’t need Kodans, have that tonic and norns already can be bears. MAKE TENGU PLEASE!

I do like the idea of Brawler/ fighter and new weapons wouldn’t be needed if they could like Ritualists enchant their gloves some how. giving their gloves an additional set of weapon stats.
These enchants could be a skill that the brawler learns or something separate that only an armorsmith & leatherworker make or maybe just an Articifier creates? Different “tonics”(for gloves specifically) would yield masterwork, rare, exotic, ascended stats. A new legendary tonic of special effects? yaaay hehe

As far as i remember it was talked about at least when the elite specs where announced and the question why none of them gained exclusive new weapons came up.

Sources, please. I’ve only read the opposite since launch (I.E. no plans) and the same claim was made with the release of HoT, and trends regarding skin production suggest otherwise.

The claim wasn’t that they would make more types of weapons after diversifying them to more professions. The claim was that they would maybe consider doing so once the weapons were spread thoroughly.

But anyone who’s been here for a while knows about ANet’s infamous “table” and what it truly means for them to be considering things.

From the lore I’ve read, I thought I remember seeing it on the wiki, ritualists were burned at the stake after the new emperor unified Cantha. So ritualists went the route of dwarves in terms of scarcity.

I don’t remember anything like that. Some indications that Kurzick and Luxon culture may have been suppressed, but ritualists were always a core part of Canthan culture.

Interviews on the lore of the professions in the past have indicated that the disappearance of the ritualist in Tyria was basically because the best ritualists were in Cantha, and the best ritualists in Tyria were in Lion’s Arch. So when Lion’s Arch was flooded and Zhaitan blocked off trade with Cantha, there weren’t enough fully trained Ritualists left in Tyria to keep the tradition alive. Some elements got absorbed into other professions, but mostly it was abandoned over time.

(This explanation doesn’t explain why the ritualists of other playable races like charr and norn have also disappeared, but that’s the official story, anyway.)

Either way, as of the start of Sea of Sorrows, ritualists were still going strong in Cantha.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

Ritualists and their Spirits are the Engineers and turrets for Gw2

The most under represented class from gw1 is hands down the Paragon the only Paragon mechanic that is anywhere near close is the Guardians Virtue of justice a single skill in this entire game and only when activated.

Basically when activated you and your teammates will inflict burning with your next attack.

Paragon unique shouts, chants, and echoes do not exist neither to their land based spears. When I start an MMO I typically pick a class to main and stick to that main regardless of new classes. That all changed in Gw1 with the paragon as I made the Paragon my new main character. I’m only saddened it really didn’t make it into the game at all when compared to the other classes. Sure Dervish doesn’t have it’s scythe but at least the Revenant has it’s stances.

While I would love a Paragon like class the only issue would be I’d want a class change function I’m not invested in GW2 enough these days to scrap a main and restart fresh with the collections and gear farming. Your class means nothing in regards to the story so restarting a character keeping its cosmetics, items, and name with a new class shouldn’t be a big deal.

Though I’d only want this if we got a class I’d switch my main for like the Paragon.

I can certainly understand why anet would be hesitant to create new weapon classes now. They’d almost certainly have to create new weapons in pairs (a caster weapon and a martial weapon) as every class player would feel slighted if their class didn’t get a new weapon.

Maybe a better idea would be to create new skills for the weapons we have. Not all of them are equally great, and I know that I have struggled on some classes to find a weapon where all 5 abilities are winners. If we could swap out the ones we don’t like with new ones like we swap out utilities, it’d add depth to the game while being substantially less work on their part.

Plus it would solve another problem I have with the current system. You can’t reorder the abilities! You should be able to. When I get into a habit of opening with one ability, i want it mapped to my 1 button. 1 is actually the worst button to have your auto attack on. It’s the one you don’t actually need to hit, it should be 5.
