Revenant utility skills: What if?
In episode 7 of Living Story season 2, we were using the memory seeds which gave us visions as if we were Caithe. This gave us a whole new set of attack skills, utility skills and of course we could not change weapons.
The Revenant will be channelling legends of the past and will change the utility skills based on which legend is being channeled. A lot of people were hostile to having to play as Caithe: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/I-want-to-play-my-own-characters.
What if: The Caithe story sequence was used, partly, to gauge the reaction that players would have to having a pre-set skillset which effectively reduces the player’s build options?
I doubt this is the case.
I believe the new class has unities like all other classes. Its just they have different effects based on your “stance” or channels in this case.
So think of it as 16 utility skills. and each of those utility skills have 4 side effects that change depending on one of the 4 channel used.
The base effect of the skill doesnt change. Just the side effect.

The current classes have about 5 heal skills, 20 utility skills (/3 → 6-7) and 3 (non-racial) elites. If there are 5-6 legends, the overall amount will be the same – you just can’t combine them anymore like you want. That may sound negative, but I guess those sets are made to avoid the danger of making revenants too weak/ too OP.

All five skills will be locked to the current Legend, you will ALWAYS have a Legend channeled. You can only swap between two, and their respective skill sets. There is no off button, and no slotting your own skills.

This isn’t entirely set in stone that they are completely unchangeable. Roy said it wasn’t decided yet in the below quote. I’m hoping that each legend will have 5 utility skills to choose from, and you have to choose 3. That gives slight customization while still fitting their theme.
From player: When I am invoking Bob the Mighty, will I have a Bob-themed pool of skills to choose from when filling out my right-hand tray, or does channeling Bob the Mighty give me an absolutely specific set of 5 skills without variation from any other Revenant invoking Bob?
I realize the answer may be different for buttons 6 and 0 than it is for buttons 7, 8, & 9.
