Screencap of all Revenant skills
Im curious about Jalis elite. The description says that you gain damage reduction but in the vid once it was used i noticed the same effect as endure pain – wolf was hitting them for 0.
Is you’re telling me 1 condi cleanse plus all condi damage reduction to 0 for your team mates (even if 2 seconds, not counting other sinergies this gives to you as a revenant) on such a potential low CD is weak, you’re just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point and you’re not worth my time anylonger. Elementalists cleanse 1 condi at a time (or 2 if using a 40 sec CD skill), or Guardians more, but are very CD reliant (both professions, besides guard’s SY, can’t control what condis to cleanse either). You can spam PA back to back, if you can’t see the potential of this skill… well…
As you said, everything is little more than speculation, regardless.
I see its potential but i also see its risk. I think Mallyx is a high risk high reward stance. And a good necromancer will punish it. As someone said before (and i didnt think about) epidemic will destroy all this aoe condition “clear”.
Just taking a look at the PoI and I’m not as impressed yet. Still waiting to see more info on other weapons. A question I do have is, since they name off 3 traits so far, does that leave 2 left for just 2 more legends? So possibly Shiro and another? (Hopefully Master Togo, even if his trait line is healing. I’d just like a pure ritualist inspired trait line & legend).
That dragon he was fighting at the end seemed pretty cool. Not only are there no corners to stack him into but there are no walls in general. lol ><
Hope we get some dungeons with cool lookin fights like that.

not like that dragon was standing still to get pulled into a corner anyway.
I also hope those UI changes get spread to other classes too. They looked pretty
You’ll likely see more of it on specializations.
What about the base classes, will they be forgotten?
I have the impression that while we are only getting 1 spec in this expansion, since the future will have more specs rolling out for classes you will probably not see people running just a base profession in the future. This is my speculation though, so make of that what you will.
That would be bad. I understood that Specializations were to be a horizontal progression, not a vertical one, so not a straight upgrade that makes the base class obsolete. I’d rather people’s choice which spec or base to take today was based on the preferred playing style and the situation, not on which spec is newest and more shiny.
If in that future you speak of almost noone would be running base professions, i’d consider it a design failure (and not a minor one).
Remember, remember, 15th of November
The revenant looked realy fun to play. But lots of things kept me wondering, I mean I dont want to be doing 80 damage to 10.000.000 million health point foes. I hope the event scaling and the terrible way it works right now will also be looked at.
And that dragon fight does not look fun at all, nobody likes to be thrown off all the time. I would just leave those annoying fights.
That dragon fight is the best that could happen. You have to be on full alert all the time. Don’t worry about being thrown off, you got hang gliding, so you can return to battle without dying and respawning.

The fight seemed pretty sweet, for every profession except a necromancer, stability and stun breaker is not something we necros have a lot of.
So yeah looks great, unless you are a necro (this has been 2 years of GW2 for necro players anyway though)

Well, my grand hope is that the Necro-Spec will be a PvE-Monster while being less effective in PvP than, let’s say, a condition-build. If Marjory’s Great Sword Attack-String will be the Specs 1-string and has decent cleave (which it looks like it has… 2 wide diagonal slashes and then a whirl) it will already help a great deal, and then maybe a party-buff or having a 20-50% chance of adding 3-5 stacks of vulnerability on the third hit of 1 could be a-kittening-mazing.

Agree.
The Dhuumfire thread
I’m not sure about the more torment skills either, I already hate this condition with a passion, only rivaled by confusion. I just dont like conditions that stop you from attacking or stop you from moving. It’s not very fun in a game.

I guess then you wouldnt like gw1. It had a ton of amazing and really annoying to deal with hexes (debuffs). And the conditions in this game are a mere shadow of the greatness that hexes were in gw1.

panic + cry of frustration was really only fun for the mesmer.
…and this is why we showed all the things.
Awesome job getting all the info dulfy.
Thank you for showing us everything!
Haha, np! Jon and I before the stream decided to at least quickly mouse over all traits to not take up too much time just because we were like: “Yeah dulfy will get screenshots and be able to post them all.” xD
seriously, thank you SO MUCH for making that live stream amazing!!
So on 1 weapon set it has a fire field and a single skill that does 3 blast finishers? How are people defending this powercreep, its ridiculous..

Amazing job.
I am still curious about the underwater skills however
.
It would be super funny if the revenant only had 1 Legend that you could use underwater.

my guess is they didn’t even start to think about underwater stuff.

Because of the size and shape of the field and the blast finishers, you’re not going to get the benefit of all three. It’s designed more to help large groups without needing quite so much stacking.

Check the OP’s image in https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/3rd-item-on-POI/first#post4817144 and you will see the hero panel only has one underwater weapon and none were equipped for the demo.

so… i’m right. they haven’t even started thinking about underwater.
i mean, “only one set” is a given, it only has one set on the surface too.

hey that’s great news Roy!
just wondering if all profs will be refreshed to include shiny new mechanics (not just specializations, but original weapons and traits)? so many good ideas and hard work went into the rev, I cant help but feel old specs and ideas might feel stale in comparison!
As an ele, im laughing at the revenant but also crying inside

Gwamm here, I loved gw1. My favorite game ever. But in gw1 you know you were dead meat without hex removal, that is why every team had monks. But they are gone from the game, we can deal with some conditions, but even more?
