Tried following Dulfy’s video guide and [this one ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2LOcztRSdk) and finding I can’t catch at least one of the updrafts. Any advice?

I think updrafting is a skill you need to earn points to train.

Most times the updrafts aren’t aligned in a straight line. So exiting the updraft requires a ‘lean’ or turn to catch the next. This causes an increased amount of endurance to be used and decreases your altitude faster…both not good if it’s already going to be close for the next updraft. It would help if you exited the updraft in exactly the direction of the next updraft. It would save distance and altitude.

You can do this in some instances by circling around on your present updraft and then entering such that your exit, once you’ve again gained altitude and endurance, is in line with your next intended updraft…shortest possible distance and all that math junk.

Sometimes the circumstances won’t allow all that maneuvering, but still worth a look. I’ll take a look at Dulfy’s vid and maybe try it myself since I need that one as well.

I had the same problem. The updraft shown in the Dulfy guide seems to have been moved further away and further up, making it impossible to reach from the ledge Dulfy jumps from. Very frustrating.

I am wondering if the updrafts are random? It would seem to fit since updrafts in the real world are not only random in location but in intensity. Would make sense for them to be somewhat random in the game.

There are alternative methods/routes you can take to reach it. Hit me up in game if you need help and I’ll be glad to show you the way.

Go to Ogre camp then climb the big tree, there are also chests along the way and a flax field, so it’s worth it. When you are at the top you can glide and use the updrafts. It’s far easier to do it after the Ogre events are finished because there are less mobs there and most aren’t aggresive (bats and grubs), if you go before the events it’s full of Mordrem.

Seconded, the second to last room in the great tree is directly over the updraft needed to reach the strongbox. If you swing left before going right you can also grab the waterfall hero point too.
