Do u like the game yes or no ?

If u like the game 50 euro is really not much for the content it gives, remember u got 3 Years out of ur last 50 euro. Thats like a sub of 50 euro for 3 years.

Game designer want game design they need money.

Or if u dont like it thats ok, u feel disapointed on anets direction in the past and u dont like no dunguons. U may even wish for a total different game.

So ya ask ur self honestly

U know its not the character slot. ( if u are a veteran u know how to make that gold in a week or day if u sell ur junk)

The Only Point minus I give anet is they failed marketing, but its really not a bad deal and other get the base game for free is good for u. More player means more money for anet means better game for u.

so calm down and think a moment.

Access to the core game will still be available free of any extra charge, so it’s not a question if we like the existing game.

kind of does since they cant build up a game only on ur love. those folks need shineys

I dont buy hot but for other reasons than the 50 euro so im quite neutral

Thinking back I remember people who even asked for donate money to anet and others who said a sub would be good. I wonder what those posters think about the xpact…

People who are upset are in-love with the game. Perhaps you are mistaking Passion and admiration for something else.

People are mad because ANET lied to new players by having them purchase The base game later changing the FAQ to say “HOT will include the base game”

These players now have to pay $50.00 for a game they bought a few months ago in preparation for HOT.

Some people are able to get a refund because of this but this also means a wipe of all the progress from 1-3 months in advance.

It was a shady dealing. That is a fact.
also $50.00 USD for this “x pac” is not worth it.

We will be getting specilizations (non-elite), a new WvW map, a new pvp mode, some new masteries, without needing to purchase HOT.

What does that leave HOT? Living story (Lelelelel), a new class, and 3 maps, and guild halls?
Guild halls should of already been included in the base game (GUILD wars)

I have over 5000 hours from the base game from over 3 years, will i get another 5000 hours from the same price?

Also not including a character slot for $50.00 was a kittenbag move because many players are relying on that slot for Rev.

true the point with the new player got cheated and for that anet should get A kicked but I can just speak for me im here since day 10 and Im feeling im getting a new core game for free when the xpact launch.

so im kind of fail to see how vets got cheated.

maybe someone can say a logic reasoning where vets get cheated

(with new core game i mean all those updates and changes)

You aren’t getting a free core game of you apply HoT to your account… At least look at facts before posting to tell others to calm down.

Ohh my, they false advertised the game? It wasn’t their intention, they didn’t meant like that.

Is this for real? Are you defending false advertising, or are you just blind?

To answer your question: yes, I do like the game. I’ve put well over 1500 hours into it, and I’ve loved nearly every second of it. I don’t doubt I will continue to play the game for a long time, despite the whole ordeal we are currently going through.

However, I don’t like the fact that the core game is being included with the expansion, and let me tell you why. The FAQ used to say that you needed to buy the core game before the expansion. Then ANet turned around and changed the FAQ to say that the core game will be included with the HoT expansion.

Now consider all the people who bought the core game only recently. They’ve been betrayed and misled. ANet will most likely (there will be an uproar and probably a loss of players if they don’t) refund these people if they buy HoT, so no problem there.

But, there’s another problem. This “pricing method” is a huge slap in the face to veteran players (and I’ll expand upon that later in my post). People will either argue A) “Yeah? Well at least you’re not paying a monthly fee!” or B) “You’ve had 3 years to play and enjoy this game! $50 isn’t a big deal, stop crying about it!” They’ll probably argue both since they tie in so nicely together as an argument against the “raging, ANet hating scum.”

My response to A) ANet gets their money from the gem store, this is what replaces the money they would get from a monthly subscription fee. There are people who pay more for gems in a month than they would be paying in a month due to a subscription fee. These people probably bought so many gems because of the fact there is no subscription fee. Personally, I have bought gems before on more than one occasion, as I’m sure many people have. I wasn’t so hesitant to hand ANet my money until recently.

My response to B) Many (I would even say most) people aren’t upset over the fact the expansion is $50. I think the majority of people are upset that the base game comes with the expansion. This is the slap in the face to the veterans, and I’ll explain why in my opinion, and I’m sure people will disagree with me. Everyone should be paying for the base game separate from the expansion. Yes, new players will have missed season 1 and can’t go back to experience the game like the veterans did at the beginning, which is why the base game was being sold for $10 not too long ago. The sale was to compensate for all the missed content and bring in new faces for future content (people who would probably buy HoT if they decided they liked GW2). I wouldn’t expect new players to drop $60 on the base game like I did back in the day, especially with HoT coming out soon. $10 is a reasonable price for the base game at this point in time.
If the expansion was $50 and didn’t come with the base game, the only people that would be complaining would be the people who don’t want to spend and extra $10 to get the gems for another character slot, something that I think most people expected would come included with the expansion, or the people who expected a lower price tag and aren’t happy with $50 period. Either HoT should not have included the base game with it, or there should be a cheaper option to buy HoT without the base game. ANet is currently forcing the people who want to buy HoT to pay for a “free” version of the base game that they already have, and these people can’t even give the key to the base game (that they didn’t want to pay for) to a friend or use it to make another account for themselves. This is why the $50 is a problem.

I’m not buying HoT (even though I really want to) until ANet makes an official statement on the matter and/or changes the “pricing method” to something that I see as reasonable, tells us what exactly is even in HoT since a lot of the content they are talking about isn’t even in the expansion, and gives us a release date.

*Previous results are no guarantee for future profits.

Sure I love the game. I’m heavily invested. But that doesn’t mean I won’t cast a critical eye on prices slapped on new content.

And yes, the absence of a character slot is totally part of why value is lacking. Why do I need to farm or otherwise use my gold for something that’s required to enjoy the content I’m purchasing?

You wont have access to any of the mastery lines in core world without having the expansion read the mastery blogpost in news section again mate
