I spent most of yesterday that the meta wasn’t going doing this thing. I am up to 24 of 25 consistently. I have watch multiple videos, tried tons of different strategies, yet time and time again I get multiple hitching problems and bugs that screwed up hundreds of attempts at this. I have Average ping of 40, and never have had issues of this nature in any other part in the game.

By hitching I mean, rubber-banding, delayed actions, actions not happening at all… the works.
1. Jumping mushrooms not activating when I jump on them.
2. Spore Clusters delaying to launch me into the air, or not launching me in the air period. Sometimes rubber-banding me back a split second from where I actually was.
3. Having to press action button multiple times to get Rockvine Fruits to be kicked
4. Glider not deploying consistently
5. Speed Mushrooms not activating when running through them
6. And today the biggest annoyance the floor instantly giving me poison, sometimes after I left the floor and was only on it for less than a split second.

Number 6 has killed it for me… Yesterday I had confidence getting this done even with the other bugs… I was sometimes on the floor for 2 seconds, but not getting poisoned, but today I wake up and I am getting poison practically when I’m not even on the floor.

Atleast this isn’t RNG based like that horrible Mask and Shooting one, but you have left no room for error, even if the error is on your side due to these bugs. Whats the point in having a scoreboard for something if its a high score just getting gold? Give me a break! I am in America with a great connection, so I feel horribly bad for Australians and Oceanic players… they are literally skritt on!

I have waited 4 months, just trimming away at achievements. This one is possible and I am too close and committed at this point, but with this poison thing I might just sit at 24/25 for awhile…

I also had problem 3 sometimes and rarely problem 2. It was still quite annoying but I got it at the end.

I would say the time for gold should be lower by about 3-5 seconds and it would be more reasonable.

But I’m not sure who tested some of the adventures anyway. For example getting gold on Haywire Punch-o-Matic Battle is impossible and that after more than 2 months. (Or is there some sort of secret we all missed?)

This adventure and several others (such as Fungus Among Us) have too finely tuned a time limit. As you noted, it is extremely unfair to players in regions like Oceanic who grapple with a permanent 200+ ms ping, because mushrooms may not fire when you jump on them, gliders open a split second too late etc. ANet really needs to do a balance pass for these adventures.

Its even worse for people who have a jittery ping. I suffer from anywhere from 70 ms (on a good day) to 250ms or even 500 ms. If you have a constant ping you can adapt to it (mostly). But when your ping jitters up and down randomly you might find that suddenly your hitting the keys too fast, or on this run you’re a bit to slow and there’s no way to tell if the run you’re doing will be too fast or too slow.

With some of the adventures tuned down to the millisecond a high ping or a jittery ping makes them just an element in frustration. Then add the randomness to some of the adventures (shooting gallery, fallen masks), it just turns in more frustration: not only do you not know how your network is acting but you don’t know if the RNG gods are with you and providing you with a pattern you can actually get gold on.

When I realized they tuned them without taking the network lag into account I just did them enough to get silver for all the collections and gave up on them. I don’t even have bronze on A fungus among us.

Yes, a high ping sadly makes some of these basically impossible.
It would be nice if Anet made these activity mechanics more robust for the entirety of their player base.

the problem with this adventure is the margin of error is too small. All it takes is 1 simple hiccup of any sort and it’s game over. Could be a glider issue, a rockvine not opening upon kicking, bouncing mushroom not activating. All it takes is just 1 thing to happen and it’s basically over.

They need to raise the time by 10 seconds or reduce the gold amount by 5.
